2018 Ford Mustang - Know what is new

The all-new Mustang has just been launched and the beast has got a makeover with several performance enhancements! Mustang is renowned all over the world, be it a child or an adult. Everybody wants to lay their hands on this pony car at some point of time. Mustang has gained its demand and fame over a number of decades but what is sold in US might not be such a big hit in Australia or Europe. The all-new Mustang features a ton of new additions including more safety, better comfort, and more technology. The GT V8 model of the car has considerably more power. All in all, the car is better than the previous release. Some of the noticeable changes in the car are:

• The cabin of the car does give you a familiar feeling but everything inside has been changed. The door trims are squishy instead of being rock solid. The centre console and dashboard feature funky stitching, the steering wheel also feels softer as cow’s belly is used to make it.
• The car has full LED headlights and their detailing has been done in accordance to the eye of an actual eagle. The bonnet of the car is also 25 mm lower and there is no bulge this time. The car did have some hardships in clearing the pedestrian-impact rating because of the lower bonnet. However, the designers worked hard making sure the bonnet is even more close to the engine hardware, they managed to get the car a 78/100 pedestrian impact rating.

• Ford has listened to its customers and have added 2 air vents on the bonnet unlike in Mustang predecessor. The air vents are working and are made up of aluminum. The new bonnet is heavier than before as it has been strengthened to reduce fluttering on bumpy roads. They have increased the steel bracing and riveting to accomplish the same.
• Ford has offered 2 models for the Mustang - a 5-litre V8 and 2.3-litre turbo EcoBoost four, both showcase improved durability. The V8 also received several mechanical updates, the car houses a new direct and port fuel injection system, better compression ratio, and the capacity of the pistons has been increased to 5038cc. The size of the intake and exhaust valves has also been increased which ensures the car produces 11% more power, even the torque has been increased by 5%. The year 2018 also marks the period when Ford announced a 10-speed automatic model which is priced higher but does a fantastic job in managing the car.

• Both models of the car also get active-valve exhaust systems which has been taken from the famous Mustang Shelby GT350. The sound of the car has also been improved the V8 model gets higher bass and powerful noise while the ecoboost four proves its worth when you press your foot on the accelerator. There are 4 modes for the exhaust noise - quiet, normal, sport or racetrack.
  Ford has also released an all new feature which sets your car on the quiet mode in the morning and racetrack mode after that. This feature is to ensure the car does not make noises during early hours of the day. Customers can themselves set these settings to suit their needs.
• The front suspension has been upgraded with forged aluminum lower knuckles and increased lateral sense which makes navigating on busy roads easily. The steering also gives a more confident and sharp feeling than before. If you are ready to spend more money Ford also offers magnetic shock absorbers that adjust the damping rate of the car 1000 times per second. Michelin has also manufactured new special tyres for the MY18 called Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S.

• There are some design changes on the inside too. The car has a 12-inch digital dashboard cluster which offers excellent functionality. The display has 3 modes for different kinds of information: normal, sport, and track. The users can also decide the hues of the dashboard and set them according to their own mood.

• The car also supports features like Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Warning, Blind spot Monitoring, auto levelling headlamps with auto high-beam and a 12 speaker stereo system.
