A modern gentleman’s SUV: the Honda CR-V VX Turbo AWD

The sixth-generation Honda CR-V was launched in the country just a few months ago. And like the Civic, BR-V, and HR-V, the brand’s flagship sport utility vehicle (SUV) also donned a fresh look with modern, minimalist vibes — the kind that’s perfect for the modern gentleman.

A cultured appeal

As we’ve mentioned earlier, the Honda CR-V VX Turbo AWD packs a modern, more mature look.

To its front is a piano black honeycomb grille with large openings, flanked by sleek-looking LED headlamps, LED daytime running lights, and LED front fog lamps. It also has a more protruded front bumper with mesh-like pattern.

Its side profile is highlighted by black wheel arches, black door claddings, silver roof rails, chrome window surround appliques, and a set of 18-inch silver aluminum alloy wheels shod in 235/60 R18 tires.

The rear end of the SUV offers a pair of LED taillamps, a high-mount stop lamp, a body-colored tailgate spoiler, two reflectors, and a diffuser.

Overall, the looks offered by the Honda CR-V VX Turbo AWD befit the cultured gentleman who carries himself with proper style that will turn heads without being too loud.

A masculine cabin

Inside, the Honda CR-V VX Turbo AWD offers a masculine cabin.

First off, there is an abundance of leather materials, which can be found on the car’s steering wheel, shift boot, door trims, center armrest, and of course, the seats.

In addition, it has air conditioning vents with a honeycomb design that adds a robust ambiance to the interior of the SUV.

Further, Honda gave the CR-V VX Turbo AWD variant a host of wooden trims inside the cabin, which makes you want to light up a cigar and drink a glass of rum while stroking your manly mustache.

It also has seats for seven, so you can always bring your crew with you.

Handles like a champ

Arguably one of the best features offered by the Honda CR-V VX Turbo AWD is its all-wheel drive drivetrain system.

It handled pretty well as we drove it to the winding mountain roads of Bataan.

The SUV’s all-wheel drive setup allowed it to admirably take on tight corners and sharp curves without losing control.

To add to that, it is fitted with MacPherson struts at the front and a multi-link suspension setup at the rear.

More than enough power

The VX Turbo AWD grade of the Honda CR-V is equipped with a 1.5-liter gasoline engine mated to a continuously variable transmission. This allows the powertrain setup to make as much as 187 horsepower and 240 Newton-meters of torque.

That said, it was more than enough to conquer uphill climbs and overcome long stretches of roads.

Verdict

Out of all the variants of the Honda CR-V, the VX Turbo AWD trim has the most masculine appeal. Not only does it have good looks and a robust-looking interior, but it also offers a reliable all-wheel drive drivetrain and a beefy 1.5-liter gasoline engine.

The Honda CR-V VX Turbo AWD is priced at P2.280 million.
