Denza B5: 3 reasons to buy

Denza Philippines launched the B5 hybrid sport utility vehicle — alongside its larger, beefier brother, the B8 — not too long ago.

Size best for off-roading 

There is no denying that the Denza B5 is a vehicle built to go where most automobiles can’t, and its size and dimensions clearly show that it was made to drive forward, even on roads where the pavement ends. 

Size-wise, the hybrid sport utility vehicle has the following measurements:

In addition to a narrower frame (which is good for squeezing through trenches and foliage), the placement of its front and rear bumpers gives it a good departure and approach angle. 

The vehicle also rides on a set of 18-inch wheels wrapped in 265/65 Continental CrossContact tires. 

Reinforcing its rather rugged form factor are features such as large running boards, roof rails, a skid plate-like bumper, a swing-out door, and a door-mounted spare tire holder. 

Power to match character 

The Denza B5 is fitted with a hybrid powertrain that can match its character. 

Under the hood is a 1.5-liter gasoline engine with two permanent magnet synchronous motors on each wheel axle. Combined, they make 677 horsepower and 760 Newton-meters. 

Range-wise, it does about 100 kilometers and can accelerate from a standstill to 100 kilometers per hour in 4.8 seconds. 

Comfort against all odds 

It’s true that going off the beaten path means going outside one’s comfort zone, but the Denza B5 makes every journey comfortable, no matter what the situation. 

The driver gets treated to leather upholstery, and the passengers can enjoy its dual-zone automatic air conditioning system with a negative-ion air purifier to keep them cool and the air quality clean. 

And since we have mentioned keeping cool, the SUV is fitted with a car refrigerator to keep cold drinks cool. 

In terms of tech, it packs a 15.6-inch ultra-high-definition infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, for decent entertainment even when camping. 

Variants, pricing 

The Denza B5 is sold in a single variant with a sticker price of P3.798 million.
