GAC Empow: subtle hues, impressive features

GAC Motor Philippines released the Empow compact sports sedan in January 2023.

Its arrival was met with much fanfare as it offered an aggressively athletic ride without breaking the bank. On that note, many car buyers have eyed to drive the nameplate back to their garage and enjoy the exciting experience when sitting behind its wheel.

Ivory White

White is a color that makes the GAC Empow look easy on the eyes. On that note, the said hue is ideal for those who plan to make the sporty mid-size sedan a family car.

Not only does the white paint make the vehicle look less intimidating, but it also makes it a safer ride for those who drive around town with their tots in the second row. At the fore, the car is fitted with a McPherson setup while the rear end uses a multi-link beam independent suspension system. The former effectively dampens the vibrations made by the car while the latter improves handling and the overall ride quality of the vehicle.

Handling halts and deceleration are disc brakes — front and back.

Gray is also the color of modernity and technology. The GAC Empow gets a seven-inch instrument cluster with an all-digital display. Complementing it is a 10.25-inch infotainment display with Apple Carplay connectivity. It also has Bluetooth connections and sends the audio to six speakers.

Elegant Black

This color is exclusive to the GB variant and exudes style, sophistication, and power.

The said finish best complements the many aggressive angles and the straight lines offered by the GAC Empow’s exterior. Notable is its wide grille flanked by its sleek LED headlamps, its elegant aluminum alloy wheels, as well as its hind side that boasts a large diffuser and quad tailpipes.

Also noteworthy is the car’s interior, which is equipped with leather upholstery and modern trims.

The GAC Empow uses a turbocharged 1.5-liter gasoline engine mated to a seven-speed wet dual-clutch transmission system that delivers ample power for both city drives and when speeding through the freeway.
