Here are the 2 variants of the MG 4 EV

The MG 4 all-electric hatchback has finally arrived in the Philippines, offering sustainable mobility combined with modern features and appealing design.

MG has brought us not one, but two variants of this electric vehicle (EV) wonder. Let's dive into the details and find out whether the Lux or the Standard trim suits your needs and preferences.

Exterior

Both variants of the MG 4 sport a sleek and modern design that will make heads turn. With its smooth lines and bold curves, this EV is as eye-catching as it is eco-friendly. 

The two trims of MG 4 are both designed with a sleek and minimalist front fascia, a sloping, aerodynamic roof, and a full LED tail light assembly with Cygnus cross-shaped accent lights.

What makes the two variants different in terms of exterior design are their wheels and rear spoiler. The Standard variant is fitted with 17-inch wheels and a ducktail spoiler, while the Lux is equipped with 18-inch wheels and a twin aero rear spoiler.

Interior

The MG 4 is designed with a spacious and comfortable cabin that offers ample legroom to ensure comfort even on long road trips.

Both variants feature high-quality materials that exude elegance and durability. From soft-touch surfaces to refined upholstery, the MG 4 EV is a true feast for the senses.

Other interior features that are standard on variants include a seven-inch instrument panel, a 10-inch infotainment touchscreen display with Apple Carplay and Android Auto connectivity, a six-speaker audio system, and a wireless charging pad.

Performance

The MG 4 Standard is powered by a zippy 125-kilowatt (kW) electric motor paired to a 51-kilowatt-hour (kWh) battery pack. Power peaks at 170 horsepower while maximum torque is 250 Newton-meters.

On the other hand, the MG 4 Lux is equipped with a 150-kW electric motor and a 64-kWh battery pack. This combination produces 200 hp and 250 Nm of torque.

The Standard trim has a range of 350 kilometers (km), while the Lux variant can reach up to 435 km.

Safety

When it comes to advanced driver-assistance systems, both variants of the MG 4 EV offer a range of impressive features. These technologies are designed to keep you safe and make your driving experience more convenient.

Among these features are blind spot detection, lane keeping assist, intelligent speed alert, pedestrian warning system, autonomous emergency braking, and cornering brake control.

The reverse camera on the Lux variant ensures further safety when driving and parking.

Pricing

Since the MG 4 Lux comes with a more powerful motor and additional features, it is priced higher at P1,738,888.

However, if you are looking for a budget-friendly option that still offers a great electric driving experience, the Standard variant might be the perfect choice for you, as it retails for only P1,468,888.

Both variants come with  an eight-year or 160,000-km EV battery warranty and a five-year or 100,000-km vehicle warranty.

Verdict

Choosing between the two MG 4 variants ultimately depends on your budget and preferences. If you are looking for a solid electric vehicle experience without breaking the bank, the Standard variant is a great choice. It offers essential safety and technology features while providing excellent value for money. On the other hand, if you desire an upgraded driving experience and can afford the higher price tag, you may consider the Lux variant.
