MG is Motor Trader’s ‘Carmaker of the Year’

MANILA: MG Motor UK won “Carmaker of the Year” at the Motor Trader Industry Awards, with the judges praising its outstanding sales success in the UK as a contributing factor.

Motor Trader also lauded the company for expanding its product lineup and offering some of the UK's most affordable electric vehicles, with the MG4 SE Standard Range starting at just £25,495 (approximately P1.7 million).

Motor Trader also commended the all-electric MG4 models, which were introduced earlier this year, for their substantial equipment levels, practicality, and driver engagement.

The Motor Trader Industry Awards, now in its 32nd year, is the most prestigious awards ceremony in the UK motor retail industry, honoring the highest levels of professionalism and performance in the industry. The awarding ceremony was held at Grosvenor House, Park Lane, London on Wednesday.

“MG Motor has a range of well-priced EV models which are achieving strong sales in the UK. The franchise is attractive to a growing number of dealers from a business perspective, performing strongly in successive dealer surveys in terms of current and future profitability. Dealers rate the franchise highly on the levels of capital investment required and think its standards are fair and reasonable,” the Motor Trader Industry Awards judging panel stated.

The award was received by MG Motor UK Commercial Director Guy Pigounakis.

“We have made significant steps to make EV ownership far more affordable and deliver cars that are enjoyable to own and drive, so we’re delighted this has been recognized. Receiving such positive feedback from Motor Trader and the industry professionals who do so much to support us is an encouraging sign that MG is heading in the right direction,” Pigounakis said.
