Honda City - Important things a buyer should know
Honda City is one of the most popular and successful sedans in the Philippines. In 2017, Honda Philippines introduced the all-new City and this time around the sedan was accompanied by several notable changes. Not only design-wise but Honda adopted a whole new approach with the seventh-generation City.
Here are ten interesting and important things about the Honda City a prospective buyer should know -
- From where it all started - Honda City first set its foot in the automobile market in 1981. This first-generation model had an unbeaten run till 1986, post which the company decided to give it a facelift. Transforming from generation to generation, the City has reached in its seventh-gen, it’s the same model that was introduced in the Philippines in 2017. Is a new City on the cards soon? Well, nothing is made official yet, but seeing the trend it won’t come before 2020.
- Fuel Efficiency - If we scan the current compact sedan market in the country, the City is undoubtedly one of the most fuel-efficient cars around. The car runs on a 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine, and it claims to return an impressive mileage figure of 18 kmpl.
- Cabin - In terms of interior design, the all-new City holds a completely different design language than the previous models. The car now features a better appeal and lot more gizmos. All the cabin features make it look plush and enhance the riding pleasure.
- Equipment - There is no dearth of amazing features in this car. The infotainment system looks better than ever and has an excellent finish quality. In the long list of features are included powered ORVM, rear parking camera, Bluetooth connectivity, keyless push-button start, strong cubicles, sunroof, info-rich instrument panel, ABS, and six airbags.
- Spacious - When it comes to size, the new Honda is the exact carbon copy of the earlier model. All the dimension spec are almost same, except for the wheelbase that’s now a little expanded at 2,600 mm. Due to which, the car portrays added comfort level, and more head-,leg-,knee-, and shoulder-room.
6.Transmission - The seventh-generation Honda City is offered in two transmission options. All the variants are powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine that’s available with either a five-speed or Continuously Variable Transmission system.
Honda City is available in six color options, and its price starts from Php 820,000. Any buyer who is looking for a compact sedan that’s safe, sound, and carries all the right looks can go for the Honda City. Still not convinced? Take into account its 20-year of long run in the market.
