Toyota Avanza - What Makes It One of the Most Loved MPVs?

MANILA: It was only recently when Toyota Philippines decided to revamp its lineup by giving its old players a fresh feel. Then be it Toyota all time wonder child Vios or the MPV hero Innova and how can we forget the SUV king Fortuner. In the midst of all this, Toyota Avanza also received its share of revision and its revamped version was first seen greeting the world at the 2015 GIIAS motor show, one of the biggest auto event of Indonesia. And shortly after its Indonesian debut, this MUV came swinging around in its full glory to the Philippines, the Toyota loyal land. To brush up your knowledge a bit, the new Avanza was unveiled last year at the Highlands Steakhouse in Pasig City in the midst of media and auto world spectators.

Since it has been a while now that the new Avanza entered the Toyota Philippines family, we'd now like to mention the strong points that have kept the car going in the times of such fears competition.

1. Under Hood Configuration -

The all-new Avanza is a car that not only delivers best-in-class performance but at the same time it also knows how to judiciously use fuel. In short, along with high power outputs, the car now delivers impressive fuel economy figure along with low environment harming pollutants. Thus, making the Avanza an environmentally and pocket-friendly machine. As for its engine tuning, Toyota Avanza is offered in two engine options. The first option is a 1.5-litre 4-Cylinder, 16V, DOHC, Dual VVT-i engine that is capable of generating 104 PS at 6,000 rpm of power and 136 Nm at 4,200 rpm of torque. The second option is that of a smaller 1.3-litre mill that effortlessly churns out a maximum power output of 96.5 PS at 6,000 rpm and 121 Nm at 4,200 rpm. As for the transmission part, the 1.5-litre engine is coupled to a manual transmission, while the 1.3-litre petit mill is offered in both manual and automatic gear system.

2. Exterior Design Language -

The one area that has witnessed the major transformation of all the frontiers is the exterior. The updated version of the car is a treat to one's eye and carries some in-trend design outlining that makes it all the more attractive and irresistible. On to the front, 2015 Avanza comes fitted with sharp and aggressive looking headlamps that are well connected with the redesigned radiator chrome grille that houses Toyota logo in the centre. Following the grille are present large black sprayed air dams and circular fog lamps with stylishly extended black cases. Coming to the side profile, the car displays prominent wheel arches that now house re-designed 15'' alloy wheels. Avanza rear end is no less and is fitted with L-shaped taillight, a rear spoiler with third brake light and topping all are well-placed counter lines.

3. Cabin Comfort

One thing that strikes us the most about Toyota Avanza is its two seating configuration options. The car is available in five and seven seating arrangement, thus allowing you to pick the most suitable option from the lot. Further, in both the options, the car provides a spacious cabin with apt leg- and head-room. Also, Avanza interior now gets a new dual-color tone that complements the entire modern set. To the list of these advanced amenities are present new audio system, rightly placed air-con vents and silver toned power window buttons. The cargo space is not an issue not even in the seven-seater option that is well-managed by the 50:50 split third-row.

4. Safety and Security

Safety has never been an issue when buying a Toyota. As the company is known to follow rigid safety measures, thus ensuring the maximum full safety of the passengers. The same level of safety rigidity can be seen in all-new Avanza as well, as the car is stuffed with gears like Anti-lock Braking System with electronic brake-force distribution, Immobiliser, ISOFIX for child safety, and side impact beams.
