A closer look at the Toyota Fortuner’s interior

The Toyota Fortuner is already a familiar sight on Philippine roads. It is well-loved as a family-friendly ride that is capable of long journeys, some measure of off-roading, and, to some degree, as a capable daily driver, even on in-city roads.

Specific to the top-spec 4x4 GR-S and LT-D variants is an auto-disconnect differential and a differential lock. Only the GR-S comes with monotube shock absorbers for its front double wishbone and rear multi-link suspension systems.

As mentioned above, the Toyota Fortuner is a family-friendly ride. This is thanks to its roomy three-row, seven-seater layout. All of its seats are clad in leather (with suede inserts), and everyone inside is kept comfy by a dual-zone automatic air-conditioning system with rear vents. 

For better optimization of space, the second row comes with a 60:40 folding function. The third row, meanwhile, can be split-folded in half. Both the second and third rows get a reclining function, but only the former has sliding adjustability and a folding center armrest.

Overall, the Toyota Fortuner, especially the top-spec GR-S, is a well-rounded SUV that will enable you to take your entire family out on adventures - or maybe out for a short journey in the city. It does nothing fancy when it comes to tech, sure, but it still has comprehensive safety gear, and its wireless smartphone connectivity options are good for most users as well. 

Then again, people who are buying the Fortuner aren’t out to get the most high-tech ride. Instead, they get to enjoy its ladder-frame robustness and its peppy turbodiesel mill, especially on the top-spec GR-S. 

With that said, people who are hunting for a family ride should give the Toyota Fortuner a test drive first. It sounds right on paper, but having real-life experience with the vehicle will make for a better car-buying experience in the end.
