2018 Honda Jazz details officially revealed
MANILA: As we said earlier, Honda Philippines is on a spree to update its current lineup in the country. Yesterday, it came up with the 2018 Honda Mobilio and just after the prices leaked of the updated Jazz, it has revealed the details of the hot-hatch. Yes, the 2018 Honda Jazz is officially revealed with updated look, a new variant, and upgraded equipment list.
At the front, a new set of bumpers makes a differentiating impact over the outgoing model while the air intake and triangular fog lights are tweaked a bit. Even the rear bumpers are restyled and now features slimmer air outlets that run across the width of the car. Along with this, the 2018 Jazz has also been equipped with LED daytime running lights and a new set of alloy wheels.
The updated Jazz is also accompanied with a new RS variant which displays the sporty characteristics of the premium hatchback. The RS variant gets a bigger tailgate spoiler, gloss black treatment on the wheels and side mirror caps along with an aggressive side skirt. It also gets RS badging on the grille and tailgate. A consumer also gets an exclusive Phoenix Orange color option available with the RS variant.
Considering the equipment list of the updated Jazz, it now gets a seven-inch touchscreen display system which was a 2-DIN stereo in the outgoing model. Steering mounted controls are added even on the entry level trims along with power folding mirrors that are standard for 1.5 V and above variants. The 1.5 VX Navi also gets a Navigation System, Multi-View Reverse Camera with Guidelines, Voice Command, Cube User Interface (UI), Miracast and HDMI connectivity. Honda has also included features like cruise control and speed sensing doors to make the 2018 Jazz even more competitive in the segment.
The safety of the occupants is ensured by the features like vehicle stability assist, hill start assist, anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic-brake force distribution, and airbags. There are no changes in the power mill of the hatchback and it continues to feature a 1.5-litre i-VTEC unit which delivers a maximum power output of 120 PS and peak torque of 145 Nm. The engine is mated to a five-speed manual or a continuously variable transmission. Whereas, paddle shifters are standard in VX Navi and RS Navi models.
