2019 Lexus UX to set you back by Php 2.4 million

MANILA: Taking over the NX, the 2019 Lexus UX will be now the smallest and the cheapest offering by the Japanese automaker in the premium small-crossover segment. The Lexus UX has been offered in two different variants, namely the U 200 and UX 200 F Sport. The UX at first came out as a concept vehicle from the Lexus’ garage. And then made to the production model which was displayed at the 2018 Geneva International Motor Show.

The final product that we see today is a lot different than the concept that was put served to the world. However, the market ready UX doesn’t look different in a bad way and is distinct in a positive manner. The crossover features the trademark sharp lines of Lexus and boasts a rather dynamic and husky look.

Up front, you can find the iconic Lexus grille with the brand’s logo placed in the upper half. The headlamps are angular in style and also feature L-shaped DRLs. A horizontal LED strip flows between the taillights, which are also LED. Move to the side and you see 17-inch alloys, 18-inch on the F Sport. With a wheelbase of 2640 mm, the 2019 Lexus UX stands 1520 mm tall and measures 4495 mm in length, and 1840 mm in width.

The new crossover now has a higher ground clearance and lower centre of gravity thanks to the Global Architecture-C (GA-C) platform. With 8 different color choices, the interior of the Lexus UX boasts a digital instrument cluster along with a touchscreen infotainment system. Talking about the mechanicals, a 2.0-litre 4-pot gas-fed motor pumping out 168 PS of max power and a peak torque of 205 Nm powers the 2019 Lexus UX. Lexus' Direct Shift Continuously Variable Transmission is present to deliver the ample power to the front wheels.

In the Philippines, the two variants of the Lexus UX, the UX 200 and the UX 200 F Sport have been priced at Php 2,478,000 and Php 3,048,000, respectively.
