2020 Mercedes-Benz CLA launched, priced at Php 3.19 million

MANILA: After the sour times for the automobile industry in the Philippines, the situations seems have started becoming better for both automaker and customers. Along with the small, compact, and sub-compact cars, manufacturers have become proactive in launching bigger and plusher vehicles in the country. The newest addition to the fleet of Mercedes-Benz in the country is the 2020 CLA. The newest iteration of the CLA was introduced by the German automaker in January, earlier this year when it was launched in the US market.

To start with, the 2020 Mercedes-Benz CLA with its sporty looks, updated tech, and a fresh turbocharged motor will be offered in the Philippines in a solitary CLA 180 variant. Talking about the major changes made to the sedan, we find a new much more appealing design language on the new CLA that comprises of a revisited front grille, a new pair of taillights, revamped front & rear bumpers, and the much-loved coupe-like body structure along with a long-hood-short-deck philosophy.

Inside the 2020 Mercedes-Benz CLA is an avant-garde cabin. The interior gets various piano black elements, premium leather upholstery, aircon vents that resemble aircraft, and multiple metal accents. Then there is the MBUX touchscreen infotainment system that gets Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, and other connectivity features along with gesture controls and "Hey Mercedes" voice command.

Powering the 2020 Mercedes-Benz CLA is a 1.3-litre four-pot mill that is good enough for 136 PS of maximum power and a peak torque of 200 Nm. A seven-speed dual-clutch transmission sends the power to the front wheels. The sole variant of the 2020 Mercedes-Benz CLA, i.e., the CLA 180 will cost you Php 3.19 million.
