Next-gen Mercedes-Benz CLA revealed at 2019 CES

MANILA: The all-new Mercedes-Benz CLA has been officially revealed at the ongoing CES (Consumer Electronics Show) in Las Vegas. It features a smooth design along with premium technologies and is clearly a treat to the eyes, especially for young buyers.

The brand new CLA shares some design elements with its hatchback sibling, the A-Class. The front fascia gets aggressive styling equipment and stylish LED headlights. The bumper gets a new aerodynamic shape and the grille is now sportier. The 2020 CLA keeps the short deck and long hood styling as before.

At the rear, the tail lights and bumper now get a new design and also stands for the car’s sporty character. There is a lot of wheel options available for the new CLA, ranging between 16-inch and 19-inch.

At the time of its first launch in the United States, the new Mercedes-Benz CLA will be available in one engine variant only. This would be the 2.0-litre inline four-cylinder turbocharged motor, which is capable of pushing out up to 225 PS of power along with a peak torque of 335 Nm. The power is channelled to the wheels via a seven-speed automatic gearbox.

Inside the cabin, there are two digital screens. It gets the brand’s own high-tech MBUX infotainment system that was first provided in the new A-Class model. The high-tech system now comes with a wide range of touch screen and hand gesture functions, along with some Wi-FI features. Moreover, it also gets an intelligent voice control system, which can be activated by saying 'Hey Mercedes'.

There is a lot of other features in the 2020 CLA, including LED ambient lighting, heated seats with massage function, heads-up display, etc. Speaking of the safety, the car gets lane change assist, emergency stop assist, lane-keep assist, brake assist, and adaptive cruise control with active distance assist.
