Ayala Land backs govt's bid to enhance infrastructure

MANILA: An Ayala Land Inc. (ALI) executive recently emphasized the company's readiness to collaborate with the government to enhance the development of the nation's infrastructure. The company's chairman, ALI's Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala, spoke during the company's virtual annual shareholders meeting.

“At the Ayala Group, we’ve always aligned our business aspirations with the needs of our country,” he said.

In addition, Zobel mentioned the formation of the Private Sector Advisory Council (PSAC), which has been entrusted with examining the situation and making recommendations for initiatives that will support the development of the nation's infrastructure, and revealed that numerous Ayala Group leaders are members.

According to Zobel, ALI can take part in some of the infrastructure, tourism, and job-creation opportunities that may result from government initiatives.

To assure a long-term benefit for the home economy, the government plans to maintain its increase in infrastructure investment to roughly 5% of domestic GDP.

The National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Board recently approved several projects, including the building of the P6 billion University of the Philippines-Philippine General Hospital (UP-PGH) Cancer Center, the P17 billion new Dumaguete airport, and an increase in funding for the MRT 3 rehabilitation project.

In contrast, ALI saw a 19% growth in revenues to P126.6 billion in 2022 and a 52% increase in net income to P18.6 billion.

Ayala Land Vehicle Charging Hubs

Recall that last year, 20 electric vehicle (EV) fast-charging stations called Ayala Land Vehicle Charging Hubs were activated throughout seven cities in Luzon, reinforcing Ayala Land's dedication to sustainable and ethical property development.

The Ayala Land Vehicle Charging Hubs will be located in the following locations operated by the corporation.

• Ayala Land Estates (One Ayala, Circuit Makati, Nuvali Laguna, Vermosa Cavite, and Vertis North).
• Ayala Land Offices (Tower 2 Ayala Triangle, Solaris One, and Baguio Technohub).
• Ayala Malls (Greenbelt Makati, Glorietta Makati, Alabang Town Center, and Trinoma).
• Ayala Hotels (Seda, BGC).
• Laguna Technohub.

These 22-KW AC and 60-KW DC fast chargers will soon allow EV users to fully charge their vehicles as fast as one to two hours, depending on the vehicle used, such as the Kia EV6 distributed by Ayala-led Kia Philippines. This is in keeping with the company’s thrust and long-term commitment toward carbon neutrality and alignment with the global and local directive to shift to electric vehicles.

“Through this, we want to further inspire the car-buying public to explore a cleaner and more sustainable form of transport. The arrival of the EV6, and the Ayala Land Electric Vehicle Charging Hub, are proof of our commitment to an electric future,” Kia Philippines President Manny Aligada stated.

The Kia EV6 GT-Line features a long-range (77.4 kWh) high-voltage battery pack and a completely electric, zero-emission drivetrain. Over 500 kilometers can be covered by the EV6 on a single charge (based on EPA rating).
