    BYD Atto 2

In the Philippine market, the BYD Atto 2 was introduced with two powertrain options. It is available with a single-motor permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) or the brand’s famed DM-i PHEV system.

With regard to the Atto 2 electric vehicle (EV) version, its single-motor setup is paired with a 41.1 kilowatt-hour (kWh) battery, direct current and alternating current ports, a regenerative braking system, and a vehicle-to-load (V2L) feature.

At maximum, the front-wheel-drive (FWD) all-electric model can generate up to 174 horsepower (hp) and 290 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque. It also has a range of 380 kilometers (km).

When charging the BYD Atto 2 EV, its battery levels can be taken from 10-100 percent in just 40 minutes if utilizing its DC port.

Moving on to the BYD Atto 2 DM-i, its single motor goes together with a 7.9 kWh battery. With this, it offers an EV-only range of 45 km and an extended range of 1,045 km. At most, the DM-i version of the Atto 2 can send up to 162 hp and 300 Nm to its front wheels

The Atto 2 DM-i doesn’t get a DC port, but its AC port can increase its state-of-charge from 15-100 percent in two hours. The model also comes with a regenerative braking system.

Appearance-wise, the BYD Atto 2 gets a high-riding stance and a sharp-looking front clip with a decent amount of intake vents. The EV and DM-i versions' side sections and rear look the same, but the all-electric variant comes with smaller vents than the PHEV.

Present on the Atto 2’s exterior are features such as LED lighting fixtures, power-folding side mirrors (EV), and 16-inch (EV) or 17-inch (DM-i) wheels.

The biggest change on the BYD Seal 5 DM-i has to do with its front end. Specifically, it lost the intricate mesh-patterned grille in favor of a pointed nose that’s similar in style to many other BYD nameplates.

Moreover, the company has vastly improved the Seal 5’s DM-i powertrain. At maximum, it can produce up to 176 hp and 316 Nm, which sounds the same as before, but its extended range was boosted from 1,100 km to 1,600 km. It likewise has a 55-km all-electric range.

The aforementioned, BYD shared, is mainly thanks to the fifth-generation Super DM-i technology, which promises more efficiency and a more predictive energy management. Plus, the company made the hybrid system lighter, which is always a good move when it comes to improving performance and fuel consumption.

Size-wise, the said sedan is still 4,780 mm long and 1,837 mm wide. Its height, however, increased up to 1,515 mm, thanks to a chunkier set of Sailun E-Range Performance tires.

Inside the model is a familiar five-seater design graced with leather-upholstered seats, plenty of soft-touch surfaces, and an automatic climate control system. Space inside the ride is likewise optimized by 60:40 split-folding rear seats.

For its displays, the updated model provides an 8.8-inch digital gauge cluster and a 10.1-inch headunit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Its exterior, on the other hand, comes with 16-inch two-tone wheels, LED lighting fixtures (with automatic headlamps), and a 522-liter trunk (default).
