F-Type 75 heralds Jaguar anniversary and sports car's final year

MANILA: The Jaguar F-Type is the undisputed Jaguar sports car, deriving from a long 75-year heritage that includes some of the most iconic creations ever.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • How is the Jaguar F-Type 75 edition recognizable as a special edition model?

Discreet emblems on the front fenders of the 2023 Jaguar F-Type 75 and F-Type R 75 depict the distinctive silhouettes of the coupe and roadster. Every F-Type in the range is now provided with a model-specific 20-inch wheel as standard as part of the curated, simpler customer offer, with the F-Type 75 and R 75 standing out for their gloss black, five-spoke and gloss black diamond-turned 10-spoke designs, respectively.
  • When will the Jaguar F-Type R be delivered to customers?

The first customer deliveries begin from January 2023 – the year which marks 75 years of Jaguar sports cars – and a pivotal moment in the brand’s history as it proudly moves towards an all-electric future from 2025.
  • The F-Type offers the ideal blend of visceral performance and driver satisfaction in Coupé or Convertible form, with a powerful, forceful design and an interior distinguished by opulent materials, excellent craftsmanship, and exquisite details.

Customers may choose their ideal F-Type with ease thanks to the final Model Year's simpler and more focused range, which will go on sale in early 2023.

With 20-inch wheels as a standard on all variants, subtle detail modifications like the wheel centers and grille emblem switching from red to black, and the R and R-Dynamic badge accent colors now being black and gray rather than red and green, the car also looks more purposeful and assertive than ever.

Customers can select the new F-Type 75 or F-Type R 75 special editions to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Jaguar sports vehicles and the final Model Year of the F-Type.

These stand out thanks to distinctive exterior and interior design features, hand-picked features, and, of course, the supercharged 5.0-litre Jaguar V8 engine.

Before Jaguar transitions to a 100% electric modern luxury brand starting in 2025, these special models are a fitting celebration of internal combustion engine performance.

Matthew Beaven, Jaguar Land Rover Chief Designer, Exteriors, said: “For 75 years Jaguar has been renowned for producing extraordinary sports cars that deliver performance, agility and maximum driver reward. The F-TYPE special editions hold true to these principles, adding unique interior and exterior design details to celebrate this lineage before Jaguar becomes an all-electric brand from 2025."

    Jaguar F-Type R

The Jaguar F-Type has a long 75-year history and continues to have a stunning appearance. It is the undisputed Jaguar sports car.

The front-engine two-striking seater's proportions and body structure, which are sculpted from light, stiff aluminum, are instantly recognizable. Its focused and commanding presence also pays homage to Jaguar's rich history of sports cars, which began with the XK120, which was introduced in 1948 as the fastest production car in the world.

Super-slim LED headlights, featuring Pixel technology as standard, with ‘Calligraphy’ J signature daytime running lights and sweeping direction indicators accentuate the car’s visual width and hint at its performance potential. They blend perfectly into the ‘liquid metal’ surfacing of the clamshell bonnet, which sweeps elegantly back, inspired by iconic models such as the C-type and D-type.

The F-Type's dramatic, purposeful design is enhanced by the rear haunches, which also sweep downward to the thin rear LED lights bearing the "Chicane" insignia.

Exhaust pipes designed for the powertrain protrude from the rear diffuser, making the F-Type's performance intentions quite evident.

    Jaguar F-Type R

The 450 horsepower Jaguar F-Type 75 and the 575 horsepower F-Type R 75 V8s are distinguished by quad, outboard exhausts; the latter features subtly engraved R branding. Four-cylinder cars have a single, center finisher.

The driver-focused interior of the F-Type is a perfect representation of the vehicle's sophistication and power. Jaguar craftsmanship, fine details, and luxurious materials and finishes work together to create an enhanced sense of elegance and sportiness.

The 12.3-inch customizable Interactive Driver Display in the "1+1" cockpit offers a variety of display themes; as befits a real sports car, the default setting is highlighted by the sizable center rev-counter.

By digitally amplifying the mechanical drama created by the pulsing red "heartbeat" of the start button and the detachable center air vents, this feature and the gearshift light quietly portray the F-Type's performance promise.

The distinctive profile motif on the Engine Spin center console finisher and stainless-steel tread plates, as well as the Interior Black Pack, are what set apart the Jaguar F-Type 75 and R 75 variants.

Lightweight slimline seats combine an ergonomically-optimized form with exceptional comfort, which is further increased by heating and cooling options. The seats are available in Sport or Performance forms, with the latter being standard on the F-Type 75 and R 75.

    Jaguar F-Type R

A further sense of luxury is added by luxurious materials like Windsor leather, which is standard on special edition models, as well as small elements like the extended leather upgrade options repeating monogram stitch pattern in the door trim and Jaguar Leaper or R motifs in the headrests. An Ebony Suedecloth headliner further enriches the interior.

The F-Type is still the gold standard for sports vehicles that are genuinely exciting, engrossing, and driver-focused.

Outstanding agility and a genuinely connected sensation are provided by the double wishbone front- and rear-suspension, carefully tuned electric power-assisted steering (EPAS), and torque vectoring by braking. These characteristics are essential to the car's quick and natural responses to each driver input.

Further enhancing traction and dynamics is the torque-on-demand all-wheel drive system with Intelligent Driveline Dynamics (IDD) technology, which is standard on the R 75 and available on the Jaguar F-Type 75. This keeps the sports car's distinctive rear-wheel drive feel and handling balance while functioning on all terrains and in all types of weather.

The ride and handling characteristics that give each 300 horsepower four-cylinder F-Type model its own personality are delivered by painstakingly calibrated monotube dampers, while the F-Type 75 and R 75 are outfitted with Jaguar's Adaptive Dynamics system with Configurable Dynamics.

While Configurable Dynamics allows the driver to customize the settings for suspension stiffness, steering weight, throttle response, and gear shifts, Adaptive Dynamics uses electronically controlled, continuously-variable dampers to maximize low speed comfort and high speed control.

The F-Type 75 can be specified with Jaguar’s Carbon Ceramic Matrix (CCM) braking system. Featuring 398mm and 380mm front and rear discs with six- and four-piston monobloc calipers with a distinctive yellow finish, this system delivers exceptional braking performance with outstanding fade resistance.

All of the roadster and coupe's engines are paired with an eight-speed Quickshift transmission with full manual control using either the SportShift gear selector or the steering wheel-mounted paddles.

The 300 horsepower, 2.0-liter turbocharged Ingenium four-cylinder engine is exclusively rear-wheel drive and produces maximum torque at just 1,500 rpm, providing outstanding throttle response across the rev range. Additionally, it offers the performance that one would expect from an F-Type and allows for a 5.6-second acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h.

With a maximum torque of 580Nm produced at 2,500 rpm, the 450 horsepower, 5.0-liter supercharged V8 has been designed to provide exploitable, usable, and enjoyable performance.

This engine is provided with an option of rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive with Intelligent Driveline Dynamics for purists in the Jaguar F-Type 75. Both configurations can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in under 4.4 seconds thanks to an electronic active rear differential that optimizes traction.

The Jaguar F-Type R 75 offers absolutely excellent performance in all conditions and on any type of road. Its supercharged V8 engine, which is only available with all-wheel drive, produces 575 horsepower and an astounding 700 Nm of torque. The benchmark sprint from 0 to 100 km/h takes just 3.5 seconds.

As a standard, each engine is paired with a switchable active exhaust system. The unmistakable crackle and pop on the overrun that are associated with sports cars still exist, with sounds that have been painstakingly tailored to fit the unique characteristics of each model. Close-coupled particulate filters that operate at high efficiency reduce emissions.

If desired, Quiet Start can be overridden by selecting Dynamic Mode or by pressing the switchable exhaust button before starting the engine.

The first customer deliveries begin from January 2023 – the year which marks 75 years of Jaguar sports cars – and a pivotal moment in the brand’s history as it proudly moves towards an all-electric future from 2025.
