Geely Coolray, Azkarra units now come with CN95 air cabin filters

MANILA: Sojitz G Auto Philippines (SGAP), the official distributor of Geely vehicles in the Philippines, is facing the threat of COVID-19 head on by installing CN95 air cabin filters in each unit of the all-new Azkarra and the Coolray.

The CN95 air cabin filters possess high filtration efficiency to prevent at least 95% of inert particles and airborne microbes from entering the Geely vehicles.

In the Geely Azkarra and Coolray, the air cabin filters act like an “N95” mask to filter out droplets having diameters bigger than 0.74 microns, particulate matter (PM) 2.5 particles, bacteria, hazardous gases, and dust since these microbes and pollutants are linked with corona viruses.

The CN95 air cabin filters also eliminate unwanted odor, formaldehyde, and allergens from mites, pollen, dogs, and cats. Moreover, it also has the ability to purify smoke particles and absorb smell from smoke. The anti-bacterial layer uses a cutting-edge nano-silver ion sterilization technology to remove pollutants and natural plant substances to eliminate allergens inside vehicles.

Geely's investment of approximately $53 million is aimed at protecting the health of passengers along with innovation and development of shared mobility, intelligence, connectivity, and electrification. 

In China, Geely was considered as the first automobile company to introduce the air purification system in its vehicles.  In February 2020, the N-95 certified air purification unit was included as an added feature in the Geely Icon, which the auto company rolled out after the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The CEO and president of SGAP, Mikihisa Takayama stated that the launching of Geely vehicles possessing high efficiency cabin filtration system is timely and relevant to the pandemic. This ensures safety among customers once the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) has been lifted in most areas in the Philippines.

He also pointed out that Coolray owners should not worry since they can get their units upgraded with the CN95 air cabin filters free of charge. All they have to do is to contact their dealerships to schedule an appointment once the ECQ has been lifted in their area.
