Here's what buyers will get for purchasing a PH-spec Toyota Ativ

MANILA: Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has just introduced its most affordable electrified offering to date with the launching of the all-new Ativ (pronounced as Ey-Tiv).

Per the leading automotive distributor locally, the electrified subcompact sedan offering will be sold alongside the Vios — a known veteran in the segment.

This means that the newest nameplate in the country shall receive the same treatment as the Innova with the Zenix.

In a statement, TMP said that the all-new Toyota Ativ is eyed to cater to practical professionals and young families seeking their first or additional vehicle.

“The All-New Toyota Ativ is another statement of Toyota’s continued mission to bring electrified mobility within reach of more Filipinos,” TMP First Vice President for Vehicle Sales Operations Elijah Sue Marcial said.

“We know choosing your first car, and an electrified model at that, can be a bold decision, so the Ativ makes it simple and easy by delivering modern HEV features, while providing peace of mind with reliability, safety, ease of ownership, and joy of use,” she added.

Vehicle specifications

On paper, the all-new Toyota Ativ tapes in at:

Outside, the car features a fastback silhouette that complements its contemporary design, horizontal grille, distinct headlamps with L-shaped daytime running lights, fully-functioning air vents and a mean-looking rear. Its overall look resembles the currently-offered Camry in the country.

Inside, the all-new Toyota Ativ is outfitted with seats covered in either leather or fabric, a seven-inch digital multi-information display, and up to 10.1-inch infotainment audio system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity for the top-level option.

Offered in three powertrain options, the all-new Toyota Ativ is available in:

• 1.5-liter four-cylinder, in-line, 16 valve hybrid electric engine with dual variable valve timing (VVT-i)
• 1.5-liter four-cylinder, in-line, 16-valve, naturally-aspirated engine with dual VVT-i
• 1.3-liter four-cylinder, in-line, 16-valve, naturally-aspirated engine with dual VVT-i

Three trims under the model come with a continuous variable transmission with the base-level variant being on manual slushbox.

Further, the Toyota Ativ is packed with safety technologies like multiple airbags, anti-lock brake system with brake assist, vehicle stability control, blind spot monitor and ISOFIX child restraint systems mated to the Toyota Safety Sense features such as:

• Pre-collision system
• Automatic high beam
• Lane tracing assist
• Lane departure alert
• Adaptive cruise control (for the top-of-the-line trim)

Creature comforts that can also be found in the Toyota Ativ are:

• Electronic Parking Brake with Brake Hold (HEV variant only) 
• Push Start and Smart Entry 
• Wireless charger (HEV variant only) 
• Panoramic view monitor (higher variations only)

Sales for the Toyota Ativ will commence this month nationwide and will have its formal launch October 24 at the BGC Amphitheater, High Street, Taguig City.
