MANILA: The public is welcome to check out the all-new Toyota Ativ on its public launch set this week.

The event will be held on Friday (October 24) at the Bonifacio High Street Amphitheatre in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig where guests can see the brand’s most affordable hybrid offering in the metal and even test drive it.

Those who cannot make it tomorrow still have the weekend to experience the hybrid sedan as well as its other trims.

Additionally, visitors can also participate in fun activities, win prizes, and have consultations with dealer marketing professionals to learn more about the most affordable hybrid in Toyota’s lineup.

Meanwhile, Toyota Motor Philippines’ (TMP) dealer network also aided in bolstering the hype leading to the release of the Ativ, making it easier for customers to experience the vehicle up close in Toyota showrooms near their location.

"We know that a lot of Filipinos, particularly those aspiring to have an HEV as their first vehicle, are eagerly awaiting the release of the Toyota Ativ," TMP First Vice President for Marketing Elijah Marcial said.

On paper, the all-new Toyota Ativ has the following measurements:

Outside, the car carries a fastback silhouette that complements its modern design.

With looks resembling the Camry, the car features a horizontal grille, distinct headlamps with L-shaped daytime running lights, fully-functioning air vents and an aggressive-looking rear.

Its cabin comes with plush seats covered in either leather or fabric, a seven-inch digital multi-information display, and up to 10.1-inch infotainment audio system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity for the top-level option.

Propelling the all-new Toyota Ativ are any of the following drivetrains:

• 1.5-liter four-cylinder, in-line, 16 valve hybrid electric engine with dual variable valve timing (VVT-i)
• 1.5-liter four-cylinder, in-line, 16-valve, naturally-aspirated engine with dual VVT-i
• 1.3-liter four-cylinder, in-line, 16-valve, naturally-aspirated engine with dual VVT-i

These are either mated to a continuous variable transmission or manual gearbox.

The all-new Toyota Ativ is also equipped with multiple airbags, anti-lock brake system with brake assist, vehicle stability control, blind spot monitor and ISOFIX child restraint systems.

It also boasts numerous features under the Toyota Safety Sense suite that include:

• Pre-collision system
• Automatic high beam
• Lane tracing assist
• Lane departure alert
• Adaptive cruise control (for the top-of-the-line trim)
