Lexus PH debuts all-new RX crossover in three Variants

MANILA: Lexus Manila Inc. has unveiled the all-new RX crossover at Bonifacio Global City showroom located in Taguig City. The RX crossover was first revealed at the 2015 New York Auto Show and now arrives in the Philippines. It is available in RX350, RX350 F-Sport and RX450h trims.

The 2016 RX350 model is all new trim based on a new platform accompanied with an updated engine and new technologies. It carries the similar design lines from the compact NX. The luxury crossover adapts an extra sloped roofline and a pinched third window, giving the car a dynamic look.

The front profile appears bolder due to the spindle grill. It also features more rakish headlights, giving it an aggressive look. At the back, wraparound LED taillights enhance the rear along with the center tailgate. The new RX is available in two exterior lines; the standard model, and the F-Sport. However, The F-Sport comes with a more aggressive and bold front grill design, standing on large 20 inch wheels.

From inside, the RX appears like most Lexus models, the infotainment system can be controlled via the center mouse-like device. The same technology is seen in the IS compact executive sedan and ES mid-size executive sedan. Although RX450h offers a new Touchless Power Tailgate function, which facilitates the users to open the rear tailgate by putting their hand on the Lexus emblem. The dashboard is trimmed with premium-quality leather and wood. The sport steering wheel comes with exclusive paddle shifters.

Both the RX350 and RX350 F-Sport are powered by a direct injection 2GR-FKS 3.5 liter V6 that produces 291 PS at 6,300 rpm along with 360 Nm of peak torque at 4,700 rpm. The two models are paired to a new 8-speed automatic transmission. The RX450h is powered by a reengineered direct injection 2GR-FXS 3.5-liter V6 hybrid engine. It offers a combined output of 308 PS at 6,000 rpm and a torque rating of 335 Nm at 4,600 rpm. It is mated to a CVT unit.

The 2016 RX is available in 6 colors: Graphite Black, White Nova, Amber Crystal Shine, Titanium Red Mica, Deep Blue Mica, and Sonic Quartz.
