All the while, it reaffirms the brand’s global commitment to sustainable luxury.
So, what is the all-new Mercedes-Benz G-Class with EQ Technology offering to prospective buyers?
Powertrain
Propelling the G580 with EQ Technology is a quad-motor setup paired with a 116-kilowatt-hour (kWh) lithium-ion battery. For now, Inchcape Philippines has yet to provide the model’s output figures, but versions sold in other markets can deliver up to 578 horsepower (hp) and 1,164 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels.
On a full charge, the all-electric SUV can cover up to 475 kilometers (km), according to the Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicle Test Procedure.
Due to its electric powertrain, the G580 with EQ Technology is able to send the right amount of torque to each wheel. The aforementioned torque vectoring system, per the German marque’s local arm, results in optimized traction and stability on off-road surfaces.
The model also has the G-Steering feature, which allows for quicker turns. The said feature supports the G-Turn, which allows the SUV to rotate in place like a tank. Per Mercedes-Benz, the G-Turn can prove useful when attempting to maneuver in tight off-road trails with loose surfaces.

Exterior
Style-wise, the Mercedes-Benz G-Class received the same adventure-ready look as the regular internal combustion engine version. It retains a square-shaped body, but it did receive additional style points courtesy of several AMG-inspired parts.
Specifically, it boasts a sizable, silver-colored grille, Mercedes-Benz lettering on its brake calipers, and a silver chrome bumper insert. Completing its look are a set of 20-inch AMG 10-spoke light-alloy wheels.
Interior, safety
Inside, the Mercedes-Benz G-Class with EQ Technology resembles the standard G-Class. It boasts a five-seater layout with seats upholstered with Nappa Leather, while an LED ambient lighting system provides additional atmosphere.
For on-board entertainment, navigation, and controlling the vehicle’s amenities, the model comes with a pair of 12.3-inch digital displays that are seamlessly linked together. Both are underpinned by the Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) operating system, which offers wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and advanced voice controls. Sound, on the other hand, is fed into the cabin by a Burmester 3D surround sound system.
Other noteworthy features present inside the G-Class with EQ Technology include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Power-adjustable front seats with memory function
- 60:40 split-folding rear seats
- Automatic air-conditioning
- Air Ionizer
- Electric Dynamic Select (terrain mode selector)
- Push-to-start button
- Electronic parking brake
- Leather-wrapped multi-function steering wheel
The brand didn’t disclose the full list of safety gear available on the all-electric G-Class, but it is equipped with the G-Roar and the Acoustic Vehicle Alert System (AVAS). The G-Roar, per Mercedes-Benz, provides users with an immersive driving experience, thanks to simulated sounds designed to mimic the burble of a combustion-powered ride. The AVAS, on the other hand, ensures safety for pedestrians and other vulnerable road users by emitting a sound to warn them of the all-electric G-Class’s presence.
