MIAS 2026: what transpired in the first day

MANILA: The 2026 Manila International Auto Show has officially kicked off with one of the largest turnouts of event goers in recent memory. 

At the event’s opening ceremony, luminaries of the automotive industry and the Philippine government were present. The aforementioned include Vice President for BPI Retail Lending and Banassurance Dexter Lloyd Cuajotor, President of the Automobile Association of the Philippines (AAP) Augustus Ferreria, Pasay City Mayor Imelda Calixto-Rubiano, Land Transportation Office Secretary Markus Lacanilao, and Department of Trade and Industry Under Secretary Ceferino Rodolfo.

The said event, which is organized by Worldbex Services International, is currently displaying cars from brands such as:

• Changan
• Chery
• Denza
• Deepal
• DFSK
• Foton
• GAC Motor
• Geely
• GWM
• Jetour
• Kia
• Lotus
• Lynk & Co
• Mini
• Morris Garages
• Omoda and Jaecoo
• Radar
• Rox
• JAC Motors
• Tata Motors

A majority of the said brands have test drive opportunities for their products at the 2026 MIAS. Plus, more than a handful have already unveiled upcoming rides or have formally launched all-new cars for the Philippine market.

Besides the brand-new cars, 2026 MIAS is also home to several aftermarket brands, car care brands, and petroleum companies. Some that we’ve already seen include KYB, Xpel, Momo Tires, Meguiars, Mother’s, Mobil1, Chemical Guys, Seaoil, Petron, Continental, PIAA, Sonax, Aisin, ACDelco, Totachi, Turtle Wax, Bosch, and K&N - among others. 

Notably, the four-day event is also host to several modified car displays. These range from sport utility vehicles, classic cars, trucks, Japanese Domestic Market models, and muscle/pony cars. 

Notably, this year’s MIAS has also extended its event grounds to the Philippine Trade Training Center (PTTC), which is in close proximity to the event’s main area at the World Trade Center Manila.

With that much ground to work with, the 21st edition of MIAS boasts over 500 car displays and a more-than-usual amount of car-centric booths and showcases to see. 

As a reminder, the ongoing 2026 MIAS is set to run until April 12, 2026. Tickets can be secured from the official MIAS website.
