Mitsubishi PH teases XForce arrival

MANILA: Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) has teased the upcoming arrival of the XForce crossover.

In a Facebook post, the local arm of the Japanese carmaker uploaded a video, which says in the end “the Force is strong with this one” while a letter “X” flashes before the word “Force.”

Uploaded on May 4, 2024 — Star Wars Day — the quote references Darth Vader on Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope.

During the MMPC turnover ceremony, the brand’s new President Ritsu Imaeda outlined Mitsubishi’s upcoming initiatives, which include the launch of the XForce.

Abroad, the Mitsubishi XForce is equipped with a 1.5-liter MIVEC engine mated to a continuously variable transmission.

It wears the new-generation Dynamic Shield front fascia and is equipped with unique appointments such as T-shaped headlights and similarly-designed taillamps, macro grain side door garnishes, a distinctive wheel design, and a handsfree power liftgate with a kick sensor.

The cabin boasts a 12.3-inch infotainment system, an eight-inch digital instrument cluster, Yamaha-branded speakers, a smartphone wireless charger, and a center console with armrest and cooling function.

Its safety features include blind-spot warning, active stability control, an anti-lock braking system, electronic brake-force distribution with brake assist, rear cross-traffic alert, and hill-start assist.

The Mitsubishi XForce offered overseas also packs technologies like active YAW control, a well-tuned suspension, and four drive modes: Normal, Wet, Gravel, and Mud.

The target release month for the Mitsubishi XForce in the Philippines is in June.
