Noriaki Hirakata Appointed Mitsubishi PH Chairman of the Board

MANILA: Noriaki Hirakata was appointed as the first-ever Chairman of the Board of Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) effective July 1, 2023.

The appointment underscores MMPC's deeper commitment to advancing corporate governance and fostering long-term commercial success. Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC), which is shifting its focus to the Philippines, also seeks to solidify a mid- to long-term business plan for the Philippine market to guarantee the continued growth of the brand here.

At the same time, Hirakata is working as an Assistant Executive Officer in MMC. He is in charge of Corporate Strategy Management at the Tokyo headquarters, enabling him to establish a closer coordination between MMC and MMPC to ensure the successful execution of business objectives for the Philippines.

Hirakata's primary duty as MMPC Chairman of the Board is to supervise the Executive Management Committee's execution of strategic business plans in order to further establish the brand's dominance in the local market. Meanwhile, the MMPC President and Chief Executive Officer will continue to be in charge of managing the company's daily operations.
