MANILA: Nissan’s Thailand manufacturing plant has shipped around one million vehicles all over the world. But the most important factor is, the Philippines is one of the leading export destinations from this hub, in terms of volume.

The Philippines is the top export destinations of Nissan’s Thailand manufacturing hub last year; the one-millionth vehicle exported - Nissan TH Plant

Nissan’s Senior Vice President of Asia and Oceania, Mr Yutaka Sanada said that Thailand’ production hub is playing a prominent role in the carmakers 'Nissan Intelligent Mobility' vision. The aim is to provide smart, sustainable, and safe mobility to the people who are interested in being a part of the Nissan family. He was also pretty excited to announce that the one-millionth vehicle to be exported to South East Asia will be Nissan Terra and, a lot of positive feedbacks have been received from this region’s customers. The all-new Nissan Terra is one of the popular vehicles across the globe.

The Japanese automaker will celebrate this historical milestone in its Thailand manufacturing plant.

The facility in Thailand started production phase in 1960. However, with the Frontier, which was manufactured in 1999, the centre kicked off exporting vehicles. And from then onwards, the auto giant started to scale up its facilities, so that the demand for the Nissan cars all over the world could be met.

The company has a manufacturing hub in Samut Prakan, with a combined production capacity of 370,000 units. The hub exports a total of six popular Nissan models (the Terra, Navara, March, Teana, Sylphy and Almera) across the world.
