Subaru BRZ slightly tweaked for 2019 upgrade

MANILA: Subaru Japan has revealed a slightly redesigned version of the BRZ for 2019 in its domestic market. The car is now available with slight improvisation, which includes minimizing the noise emission and tweaks in the spring shock absorbers. It was launched in Japan in 2018 itself.

The range of changes also includes minor modifications on aerodynamics and the suspension setup. It is now more like a complete sports car, especially with the tweaked suspension. The company has added some of the latest technologies as well, which includes the safety department.

The tweaks in the suspension mean the certain level of re-tuning has been done in the dampers to offer a smoother drive and improved handling. Apart from this, the company has added rear arch fins which are designed to reduce the turbulence caused by extremely wind blasting. It also helps in reducing wind noise.

There is a slight revision made on the RA Racing as well and the buyers opting for it would get a newly-designed seatbelt and a better roll cage. However, no changes could be seen in the mechanism under the hood as it continues to be powered by the same 2.0-litre naturally-aspirated boxer motor for 2019.

The Subaru BRZ, which is presently on sale in Australia rides over 17-inch wheel for the low variants while the top trim has 18-inch units. Plus, there are grippy 215-section tyres from Michelin given as standard. All the four wheels have ventilated disc brakes along with a 4-channel ABS and electronic brakeforce distribution given as standard.

And since this new 2019 model has the same engine as the current model, the power output remains the same at 206 PS for the manual and 200 PS for the automatic. A 6-speed manual and automatic is standard.
