Suzuki: recent sustainability efforts
Suzuki’s 10-year tech plan, which was unveiled last September 2025, is a clear reflection of its prioritization of sustainability.
For starters, the company is banking on lightweight, or “Right X Light” vehicles, which will use fewer resources and manufacturing processes. In fact, the corporation has already vowed to reduce the average weights of its vehicles by 100 kilograms without sacrificing safety and build quality.
The corporation is also delving into more efficient internal combustion engines and carbon-neutral fuels. This direction is showcased by the Fronx Flex Fuel Vehicle (FFV), which was presented at the 2025 Japan Mobility Show (JMS).
Suzuki has likewise continued its investments in the establishment of biogas facilities in India and Pakistan. The latest of these was kick-off via a research and development-focused agreement between Pak Suzuki Motor Corporation Limited and the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad.
Earlier in the year, the Indian arm of the Japanese manufacturer opened a new biogas production plant in Manesar. This plant’s biogas production capacity is seen to be able to help reduce 190 tons of carbon dioxide per year.
