Toyota Motor PH drops 1.5 G option in Vios lineup

MANILA: Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has quietly dropped the 1.5 G variant in its Vios lineup.

The discontinued then top-of-the-line option is the only one in the existing lineup that was powered by the 1.5-liter 2NR-FE mill that can be had in continuous variable transmission (CVT) or with five-speed manual gearbox (MT). Its front and back brakes are all disc types.

Aside from that the Toyota Vios 1.5 G was also the one in the roster that is immediately offered with a leather steering wheel, push start system, and select drive modes (under the CVT variation).

The car’s distinct exterior features include the three-tier LED headlamps, LED line guide daytime running lights and gloss black grille.

With the aforementioned variant leaving the lineup, the subcompact sedan now only has four options left namely the J MT, XE CVT, XLE MT, and XLE CVT.

The remaining trims are all powered by the 1NR-FE 1.3-liter four-pot, dual overhead cam gasoline engine. Their stopping power comes from ventilated discs at the front and drum-type for the rear.

With the variations reduced to four, the pricing of the new Toyota Vios ranges from the P732,000-P902,000.

Earlier, the GR-S and E options have also left the local Toyota Vios lineup.
