Toyota updates the Hilux in Thailand, will the Philippines follow?

MANILA: In Thailand, the revised Hilux was launched last year. The updated pickup benefited from a new suspension, revamped gearbox, and a revised front fascia. Toyota,

the Japanese automaker cited at the launch that the low-end models of the Hilux will not be getting the updates looks. But on the contrary, Toyota Thailand’s official website is featuring the lower trims of Hilux with an updated appearance.

Hilux Revo Standard Cab, though, still retains the pre-facelift look. It could be because the model is used heavily for commercial purposes. What’s next then? As the Thailand-spec Hilux has already undergone the hammer, we expect Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) to provide us with our fair share sooner than later.

If and when launched, the Philippine-spec Toyota Hilux will be boasting pretty much an identical look to the Thai Hilux. Up front, the updated pickup comprises of a lower air intake, redesigned fog lamp housings, and a brand new bumper. The two-bar grill design has also been replaced by a new setup.

Other elements on the outside of the pickup like wheels, rear bumper, and sidestep are same as before. The inside of the pickup is also very likely to be the same experience. The power delivery will be done by 2.4-litre and 2.8-litre diesel motors, while both manual and automatic transmissions will be available too.

What remains to be seen is whether Toyota Philippines will revamp the complete lineup of the Hilux pickup truck or it will only flourish the Conquest trim. Toyota Philippines is offering some ridiculously delicious deals on its offerings this summer, we bet you don't wanna miss out.
