Volvo New CMA Platform, Know It and Praise It

MANILA: Volvo has now and again proved itself to be a dedicated and far thinking automaker. From its trustworthy body design to its high-end safety features, everything is top-notch. So, once you have a Volvo you have a car for a life time, a car that has swear to death to protect you and your family. Enough, of Volvo praising and time for some future facts. This Swedish brand has recently announced a new Compact Modular Architecture, and as obvious as its name, it will be underpinning next-generation compact Volvo line up.

As per what we know, the new platform has a lot in common with Volvo's already existing platform, the Scalable Product Architecture. And now the two will be used together to further stabilize Volvo's already fine-tuned line-up. The CMA has filled the long gap that was created with the inception of SPA, as this platform was non-shrinkable and so was restricted only to full-size mean machines. The SPA platform can be found coupled with the newly launched XC90 and the forthcoming S90, plus the future 60-series vehicles.

The newly introduced platform is said to be very flexible, all areas covering its length, width, and height are freely adjustable and designers will be able to mold them as per requirement. If you are wondering when you'll see a car sitting upon the said platform then wait till 2017. As a recent report from Volvo hints towards the new XC40 crossover residing on CMA.

After XC40, we are also expecting next-generation V40 and V40 Cross Country sitting on the same platform and gracing the world only after a year. But on its arrival in the Philippines, we don't see it coming anytime soon. Talking about the amenities and utilities, CMA is designed to offer things like a smart information system, best-in-class safety, and connected car technologies. As for the engine, currently it will offer the same old power mill, but the company is expected to come up with three and four cylinder engines, plus plug-in hybrid versions in the future.
