Volvo PH May 2025 MoM sales up by 550%

MANILA: Volvo Philippines showed a stellar performance in terms of its retail output in the country.

Without sharing the exact figures, the Hariphil Asia Resources Incorporated (HARI)-led automotive distributor shared that the brand experienced a 550-percent sales increase in May 2025 and a 29.8-percent climb year-over-year.

Specifically, 57 percent of the overall Volvo sales locally are made up of electric vehicles (EV) — with the EX30  cornering a 28-percent share.

Here are some notable details about the Volvo EX30 (which was launched in November 2024).

EX30 specifications

Its notable exterior elements are:

• Thor’s Hammer LED headlamps
• Grille-less fascia with company emblem
• 19-inch, geometric wheels wrapped in 245/45 series tires
• Blacked-out portions (claddings under the doors pillars, side mirrors, and a dark-hued panoramic roof 
• Power tailgate, LED rear combination lamps

Inside, the Volvo EX30 is outfitted with

• Flat-top, flat-bottom steering wheel with multi-functional controls
• Front seats with lumbar support covered in eco-friendly upholstery 
• 12.3-inch central display mated to a Harman Kardon premium sound system
• Wireless charging tray

Providing power to the vehicle is an electric motor (in rear-wheel-drive format) mated to a 69-kilowatt-hour battery that can dish out:

In terms of range, the Volvo EX30 can cover 475 kilometers when fully charged.

Sales attributed to customer satisfaction

In a statement, the company attributed Volvo’s latest success locally to its intensified focus in boosting customer satisfaction.

“When customers know they can rely on swift, safe, and seamless support, their satisfaction translates into long-term loyalty,” HARI Vice Chair, President, and Chief Executive Officer Maria Fe Perez-Agudo said.

According to her, such results are embodied in two major strategic investments in customer experience and customer satisfaction: Volvo Personal Service (VPS) and the Auto Resources Center (ARC).

Volvo Personal Service

Per Volvo Philippines, VPS reimagines automotive service designed to take away the stress of waiting, second-guessing, and uncertainty that typically affects automotive maintenance.

VPS provides a “personal touch” in serving customers as they are paired with a corresponding technician who will handle scheduling, diagnostics, execution, and delivery with transparency, empathy, and speed.

Auto Resources Center

Established at Calamba City in 2015, HARI has received support from ARC.  

HARI claimed that the 10-hectare complex stands as the only dedicated logistics and training hub in the country operated by a luxury car brand. This facility can accommodate some 2,400 vehicles and boasts a steady stock of genuine parts.

“When customers know they can rely on swift, safe, and seamless support, their satisfaction translates to increased retention and higher average lifetime value. Volvo under HARI is poised to reshape the future of mobility in the country with its long-view approach to business growth, grounded in customer loyalty,” Agudo noted.

Moreover, HARI said that such thrust is in line with Volvo’s “Being Alive” campaign in the country.

Aside from Volvo, HARI is also the country’s distributor of Hyundai commercial vehicles and Chevrolet passenger cars.
