Here are the Suzuki XL7 Hybrid’s 5 available hues

Suzuki Philippines Incorporated released the XL7 Hybrid in March 2024.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • What powers the Suzuki XL7?

The Suzuki XL7 is powered by a 1.5-liter gasoline engine with mild-hybrid technology.
  • How much power does the Suzuki XL7 Hybrid make?

The Suzuki XL7 Hybrid makes 103 horses with 138 Nm of torque.
  • Its arrival not only gave the full internal combustion engine-powered multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) a major update — in the form of a new mild-hybrid powertrain — but also provided the older Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid a suitable stablemate.

The two, at the time of writing, are now joined by the Suzuki Dzire Hybrid.

On that note, we will take a quick look at the five available hues of the Suzuki XL7 Hybrid, which somehow represent its notable features.

Savanna Ivory Metallic, Cool Black Pearl Metallic

The two-tone Savana Ivory Metallic and Cool Black Pearl Metallic colorway gives the Suzuki XL7 Hybrid a refined, masculine look.

Its yellowish ivory paint — which is used for the majority of the MPV’s body — looks elegant yet robust, while the black roof seamlessly blends with the plastic claddings (which we will get to in a few) that add some level of sportiness to the compact seven-seater.

On that note, it is only fitting to talk about some of the tough exterior appointments offered by the MPV.

At its fore are thick headlamps that flank its black grille with a silver Suzuki emblem. Just below the fascia is a pair of fog lamps fitted in a chunky housing bordering the skid plate on its lower chin.

To its sides are wide black wheel arches, lower door coverings, silver trims on the side sills, dark-hued pillars, and a pair of gray-colored roof rails. The Suzuki XL7 Hybrid also wears black 16-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 195/60 series tires.

Its rear boasts a roof-mounted spoiler with a third brake light, a decent-sized window, aggressive-looking taillamps, and a bumper with a skid plate — to tie up the design cues found at the vehicle’s front end.

Rounding up its notable exterior features is a chrome garnish on the rear hatch, where the Suzuki emblem, XL7 nameplate, and the Hybrid badge can also be found.

Overall, the Suzui XL7 Hybrid looks like it can perform the role of a city car for daily metro errands as well as a weekender for those spontaneous trips in rural environments.

Rising Orange Pearl Metallic, Cool Black Pearl Metallic

Orange represents liveliness, and the Suzuki XL7 Hybrid offers an exciting drive while maintaining efficiency and sustainability.

Powering the MPV is a 1.5-liter gasoline engine accompanied by an electric motor with a 12-volt integrated starter generator. The said mild-hybrid technology works with the brand’s engine auto start and stop system, which automatically kills the powerplant when the car comes to a full stop and boots it back to life as soon as the accelerator is depressed — preventing unnecessary fuel consumption.

By helping with the starting of the engine, the electric motor improves efficiency while still offering some pep, which, Suzuki describes as “a lively and responsive driving experience.”

That said, the Suzuki XL7 Hybrid, through its four-speed automatic transmission system, produces the following performance figures:

    Maximum power (in horsepower)

    103

    Maximum torque (in Newton-meters)

    138

Zigwheels Philippines Managing Editor Ruben Manahan IV noted in his review of the Suzuki XL7 Hybrid that “the assistance from the electric motor was more evident during the heavy traffic,” and cited that “the electric motor provides boost on accelerating the vehicle from standstill,” highlighting its potential as an efficient daily driver.

The Suzuki XL7 Hybrid clocks it at 22.03 kilometers per liter.

    Magma Gray Metallic

The Suzuki XL7 Hybrid looks like a smart MPV in gray, as the color best relates to technology.

When it comes to in-car tech, the nameplate offers some decent features, such as an instrument cluster that combines analog gauges with a small digital screen, a 10-inch infotainment system with Apple Carplay and Android Auto, automatic air conditioning, as well as the following power features:

    • Power windows
    • Keyless push-start system
    • Automatic lamps
    • Power side mirrors

    Brake Khaki Pearl

The khaki color of the Suzuki XL7 Hybrid makes the vehicle look like a dependable ride.

Coincidentally, the MPV is equipped with reliable components that can make it a trustworthy companion for the family’s exciting escapades.

Providing stopping power for quick halts and smooth deceleration are ventilated disc brakes at the front and leading, trailing drum brakes at the back.

Supporting the vehicle when carrying creature and cargo is a MacPherson strut with coil spring at the fore, together with a torsion beam setup with coil spring at the rear.

    Show White Pearl

White is often related to a car’s safety, and the Suzuki XL7 Hybrid has a handful of useful safety technologies that can help keep the driver and the passengers safe while on the road.

Below are its notable safety amenities:

    • Airbags
    • Seatbelts
    • Anti-lock braking
    • Electronic brake-force distribution
    • Electronic stability program
    • Hill-hold control
    • Rear parking sensors
    • Reverse camera
    • ISOFIX tethers
    • Child-proof rear doorlocks
    • Side impact door beams

The Suzuki XL7 Hybrid is also built on the marque’s Heartect platform, which uses its smoothly curving frame to increase underbody stiffness and contribute to collision safety by efficiently dispersing energy in the event of a crash.

    Variant, pricing

The Suzuki XL7 Hybrid is available in a sole GLX variant and is priced at P1.252 million. Those who want the two-tone colorways can get it by adding P10,000 to the base price.
