We check out the 4 Toyota Wigo variants

The much-awaited 2020 Toyota Wigo has undoubtedly been well-received in the Philippine automotive market since its debut last June 15.

With about 83,000 units on the road since the nameplate's launch in 2014, there is no doubt that the entry-level hatchback has become among the top-sellers of the country's leading automaker.

Called the “Agya” in the Indonesian market, the 2020 Toyota Wigo boasts of a redesigned exterior and new interior features.

ZIGWHEELS.PH  takes a closer look at the Toyota Wigo and its four variants, which Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has rolled out.

Toyota Wigo 1.0 E MT

Though it's the base (and most affordable) model of the Wigo, this variant also gets refreshed updates on its exterior and a restyled and expansive interior that offers utmost comfort.

Among its features that are also found in the higher variants are its redesigned side skirt, front spoiler, rear skirt, and rear spoiler. It is also equipped with 14-inch x 5J alloy wheels, knob-type air conditioner control, back sonar, SRS airbags, and power windows with convenient and secure controls that are within reach.

This variant is powered by a three-cylinder in-line engine mated to a five-speed manual transmission.  

The Toyota Wigo 1.0 E MT comes in three color options, namely Gray Metallic, White, and Silver Metallic, with a suggested retail price is P568,000.

 Toyota Wigo 1.0 G MT

Similar to the E MT variant, the Toyota Wigo 1.0 G MT also has the same five-speed manual transmission as well as exterior and interior components but with enhancements and modifications.

These enhancements and additions include the LED-type rear spoiler/high-mount stop lamp, front fog lamps, power-adjust outer mirror, power windows and door lock, power retract and adjust side mirrors, and machine-cut design-alloy wheels.

The G MT variant also has an LDC air-conditioner panel, which is an innovative air conditioner system. It has a three-spoke steering wheel with controls, a touchscreen display audio (with AM/FM, USB/AUX, and BT), a keyless entry, anti-theft system, push-start button, and back camera.  

The Toyota Wigo 1.0 G MT variant is priced at P623,000 and it has five color options: Gray Metallic, White, Silver Metallic, Black, and Orange Metallic.    

Toyota Wigo 1.0 G AT

Some car buyers prefer a vehicle with automatic transmission, which is something that the Toyota Wigo 1.0 G AT has compared to its more inexpensive trims.

All features that are in the G MT variant, including the color options, are present in the G AT, which is priced at P658,000.

Toyota Wigo 1.0 TRD S AT

The top variant in the Wigo lineup is the 1.0 TRD S AT variant. The "TRD," of course, stands for Toyota Racing Development. Most of the top features of the E MT, G MT, and G AT variants can be seen in the TRD S AT variant, except for a few modifications and inclusions.

One of these is an increase in length (3,700mm) compared to the E MT, G MT, and G AT variants, which are 3,660mm long. This variant also includes innovative features and sporty TRD accents.

Another unique feature of the TRD S AT variant is its sport kit, which is composed of TRD S decals and emblem, two-tone rear spoiler, rear skirt, side skirt, and front spoiler.

It is also powered by a three-cylinder in-line engine mated to a four-speed automatic transmission, similar to the G AT variant.

You will also experience ease and comfort while driving even in narrow areas through the new interior features of the TRD S AT variant, which include the advanced audio system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility and voice command as well as the dashboard camera that can let you see what is happening in front of you as you drive.

The Toyota Wigo 1.0 TRD S AT is priced at P700,000 and comes in Gray Metallic, White, and Yellow SE color options.
