The Suzuki Jimny has been among the top 20 most viewed cars on Zigwheels Philippines this year. And, of course, this was to be expected considering the sheer popularity of the vehicle. 

However, many who aren’t familiar with the local automotive industry may scratch their heads as to why a tiny and relatively pricey sport utility vehicle (SUV) is getting a lot of attention from would-be car buyers.

Apart from its exterior design and features, the Suzuki Jimny is also notable for its mechanical bits. Sure, its 1.5-liter mill only makes 101 horsepower and 130 Newton-meters of torque, but it is a ladder-frame vehicle with a four-wheel-drive system with a low-range transfer gear. 

The aforementioned is coupled with a front and rear three-link rigid axle with coil springs, resulting in a durable and robust platform that is touted by the Japanese marque to be able to handle just about any terrain thrown at it.
