2017 Subaru BRZ Series.Yellow Revealed - Only 500 Units To Grab

MANILA: It has been approximately a fortnight when the 2016 Subaru BR-Z was set out in the open. The newly flashed sports car has a striking resemblance with the new Scion FR-S and Toyota 86, and why not, after all, all the 3 companies have signed a deal to share technologies, manufacturing and design. With all the configuration and styling cues, the 2016 Subaru BR-Z looks like an amazing drive, just like always. Well, you might be thinking that what's the use of repeating the old tale, but we must tell you that this old story has to do with something new which Subaru has done. Subaru has announced that it is bringing the latest and the limited version of its extremely dashing and 'to-die-for' sports car BR-Z which is labeled as – 2017 Subaru BRZ Series.Yellow. Well, you better not think that we are making a grammatical error in putting a 'dot' and not giving any space, this is all intentional by the manufacturer.

The External Beautification

2017 Series.Yellow carries a sunny appearance just like its label. The single color paint all over the body is further accentuated with black exterior mirrors and badging. The front grille is also kept jet black to balance the brightness of this model. The mildly facelifted 2017 BRZ is packed with black 17-inch wheels, Sachs dampers for improved handling & stability and Brembo brakes to add more performance to this limited edition package. Other than some minor tweaks to give it a limited edition look, the exterior features are similar to that of the present Subaru BR-Z.

What's In The Cabin

Well, if this car has been labeled with Subaru BRZ Series.Yellow, you can be sure that there would be loads of yellow in and out. While the outer yellow is absolutely visible even from a distance, the cabin also has similar sunny cues. The sporty black Alcantara-wrapped seats have been given yellow stitching for a distinct appearance. Also, the door panels, shift boot, dashboard and several other parts of the interior have been graced with 'Yellow' to make it shine like a sun. Talking about the equipment packed in this drive, there is a 4.2-inch LCD display at the center console, the Starlink multimedia interface along with a 6.2-inch touchscreen, a rearview camera, keyless entry/start and dual-zone climate control for entertainment and comfort of the occupants.

Tech-Pack

The 2017 Series.Yellow will arrive with a 2.0-litre D-4S naturally aspirated flat-four power unit which is capable of knocking out 205 hp of max power along with 214 Nm of max torque. The rear wheel drive layout ensures that this performance centric engine is always up to the expectations of the occupants. Mated only with 6-speed manual transmission, there is Torsen limited-slip differential plotted in this drive to convey dynamic advantages which further accentuates the performance. Well, the difference is not limited to the bump given to the power but also to the driving modes. The drive now carries a lower final drive ratio and the 'Sport' mode has now been changed to 'Track'.

Arrival and Availability

Since the newly announced Subaru BRZ Series.Yellow is a limited edition drive, you cannot expect it to be available in lavish quantity just like regular drives. Only 500 units of this bright and beautiful sports car will be manufactured by the Tokyo-based manufacturer which will be supplied to all of its distributors depending on the demand and sales of the previous years. With a limited availability, the manufacturer is giving enough time to its prospective customers to think if they want a limited edition badged car in their garage, after all, not everyone can afford this model.

The company is yet to reveal the prices and since there is a lot of time in the arrival of this super gorgeous 'Sunny' edition of the Subaru BR-Z, seems like the Japanese manufacturer is taking its time in revealing the details in bits and pieces. With the similar looks and technology under its label, it would be interesting to see if this Subaru drive can touch the popularity of Toyota 86 in the Philippines automotive market.
