2018 Honda CR-V turbo-diesel variant now available at the dealerships

MANILA: After introducing the 2018 version of the CR-V, the Japanese automaker, Honda has finally revealed the turbo-diesel variant of the SUV. This is the first batch of CR-V with turbo-diesel powered models that are made available in the local market by the Honda Cars Philippines Inc (HCPI).

At the time of launch in the August 2017, Honda confirmed that CR-V will be made available in the diesel variant for the first time in the Philippines and finally it is now available for bookings. In addition, the 2018 CR-V is also available in the 7-seater configuration while the gasoline-powered model is offered with five seats only. With this, the all-new SUV joins the lineup of 7-seater in the country which also includes Mobilio and BR-V.

The deliveries of the 2018 CR-V have already started and it is available in six colour options: Lunar SIlver Metallic, Crystal Black Pearl, Dark Olive Metallic, Modern Steel Metallic, Passion Red Pearl and White Orchid Pearl. For the White Orchid Pearl, a customer has to pay Php 20,000 more.

The engine configuration includes a 2.0-litre i-VTEC four-cylinder gasoline engine that delivers a maximum power output of 154 PS and at 6500 rpm and peak torque of 189 Nm at 4300 rpm. Another is the 1.6-litre i-DTEC turbo-diesel that produces 120 PS of maximum power at 4000 rpm and 300 Nm of peak torque at 2000 rpm.  It is further coupled to a nine-speed automatic transmission and Earth Dreams technology that optimizes the fuel economy in an effective manner. In terms of design and features, there is no difference in both the variants.
