2018 Suzuki Swift Dzire unveiled at the MIAS

MANILA: This year’s Manila International Auto Show is bliss for first-time car buyers, looking for stylish but affordable commute options. Suzuki topping the charts introduced the all-new Swift Dzire at 2018 MIAS. It is no less than its elder sibling, the Ciaz and offers nearly the same features and styling options.

When compared to the ongoing hatchback version, the next-generation Swift Dzire offers a spacious and practical packaging. Plus its bold design language and impressive cabin amenities make every ride fun and memorable experience.

Suzuki has not adopted a new design language for the compact sedan, but surprising the new Dzire still looks fresh as the day. Towards the front, the 2018 Swift Dzire features an all-chrome soft edged hexagon grille. Complimenting it on the top are the bumper-limited headlamps and smart cased fog lamps towards the bottom. A few striking features at the rear include an upswept tail light, longer rear quarter, and short trunk.

As for its size, the all-new Swift Dzire measures 3995 mm in length, 1735 mm in width, and 1515 mm in height. Its wheelbase is slightly revised at 2450 mm.

Unlike the soft corner exterior design language, the cabin is all edgy. The driver’s arena is blessed with a flat-bottomed steering wheel with utility controls and an interactive instrument binnacle. The centre console of the base model, however, lacks freshness with the same 2 DIN audio system and air-con controls. The range-topping trim comes with a high-end touch-screen infotainment system with features like AM/FM radio, CD, USB, AUX connectivity, and navigation.

Open the 2018 Suzuki Swift Dzire hood and you will be greeted by the K12M 1.2-litre four-cylinder mill. Carried forward from the previous generation the said engine generates 82 PS of power and 113 Nm of torque. As for the transmission, the mill is connected with either a five-speed manual or five-speed automated manual gearbox.

The next-generation Suzuki Swift Dzire benefits from safety features like dual SRS airbags, anti-lock brakes with EBD and BA, side impact beams, and keyless entry and start system.

That’s all we currently know about the 2018 Swift Dzire. Suzuki Philippines is yet to reveal the prices that we expect to limit at Php 750,000.
