2019 Kia Sorento launched, priced at Php 1,895,000

MANILA: Kia, along with Ayala is on a roll these days. We bet the employees inside must be busy. After a poor run in the Philippine market, the brand Kia held hands with Ayala.

The relaunch of the automaker in the country took place recently and was accompanied by the launch of a new model in the Kia Philippines lineup, the Soluto. Already on the move, Kia now has introduced a refreshed Sorento in the country. The crossover will be available in two variants, namely 2.2 EX AT 4x2 and 2.2 EX AT 4x4.

Up front, the 2019 Sorento features Kia’s signature Tiger Nose grille sitting between redesigned headlamps. The fog lights residing on the bumper are now also projector units. A new pair of LED taillights replace the older ones. A pair of new reflectors and an updated diffuser are housed on the rear bumper. Moreover, the exhaust has also been revamped. The new Sorento rides on either 17-inch or 18-inch alloys depending on the variant you choose to buy.

Features inside the crossover include a 7-inch infotainment system and dual-zone automatic climate control among others. A rear camera, cruise control, and parking sensors are also available for the driver’s aid. While most of the interior is same as before, the new additions include a steering wheel with audio controls mounted on it along with a new gear shifter.

Talking about the mechanicals, the 2019 Kia Sorento continues to get its power from a 2.2-litre inline-four diesel-fed motor capable of producing 200 PS of maximum power and a peak torque of 441 Nm. The power delivery is taken care of by an 8-speed automatic transmission. An FWD and an AWD are the available drivetrain options.

As we mentioned before, the crossover has got two variants and is available in four different colors: Aurora Black Pearl, Snow Pearl White, Silky Silver, and Iron Gray. The 2019 Kia Sorento price for the 2.2 EX AT 4x2 and 2.2 EX AT 4x4 variants is Php 1,895,000 and Php 2,195,000, respectively.
