2020 Honda City 1.5S CVT priced at just Php820k!

MANILA: Honda Cars Philippines (HCPI) has just released the most affordable City yet.

Honda City, the company’s top-selling sedan, has a new entry-level model. Christened as the Honda City 1.5 S CVT, it is the most affordable variant you can purchase with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) at just Php 820,00.

If you would compare the City 1.5 S CVT to the City 1.5 E MT, the previous entry-level MT variant, the price difference is just Php 8,000 (so technically the 1.5E MT is now a mid-range model). In comparison with the 1.5 E CVT, the new 1.5 S CVT is cheaper by Php 55,000.

Since the new 1.5 S CVT is an “add-on” model to the current generation City range, expect it to have the same exterior and interior with minimal changes. Since the new 1.5 S CVT is now the base model, it does not come with fog lights and alloy wheels you would find on other variants. Instead, the tires are wrapped in steel rims with full cover.

Inside, the 1.5 S CVT does not have touchscreen audio as well but a 1-DIN stereo. But don’t worry, it does have USB and Aux-in connectivity. For driver assist feature, the new City base model comes standard with Eco Assist System with ECON button, LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL), keyless entry system, security alarm with immobilizer, and driver and front passenger airbag.

Just like all the Honda City variants, the 1.5 S CVT is powered by Euro-4 Compliant 1.5 liter i-VTEC 4-cylinder, 16-valve engine that can produce 120 Hp of power at 6,600 rpm and 145 Nm of torque at 4,800 rpm. The Honda City specs sheet tells that the new 1.5 S CVT model is available in six color option - Ruby Red Pearl, Gold Brown Metallic, Modern Steel Metallic, Lunar Silver Metallic, Crystal Black Pearl, and Taffeta White.
