ACMobility holds first-ever BYD Tech Tour for Mindanao

MANILA: BYD Cars Philippines’ Tech Tour has reached Mindanao for the first time — as part of its bid to support the region’s shift toward more sustainable and future-ready mobility.

The ACMobility-led subsidiary conducted the initiative in Cagayan de Oro City last June-27-29, which gave Kagay-anons the opportunity to experience BYD’s latest innovations through the electric vehicle (EV) test drives and infrastructure displays.

“We remain true to our commitment in bringing innovation through BYD and to build the charging infrastructure needed to make electric mobility more accessible and affordable to the Filipinos,” BYD Cars Philippines Managing Director Bob Palanca shared.

Building on last year’s milestone when ACMobility inaugurated the first BYD dealership in Mindanao at Davao City, the Chinese automaker’s distributor in the country shared that such an initiative bolsters its presence to more areas in the country.

Through the aforementioned Tech Tour Cagayan de Oro leg, BYD Cars Philippines highlighted the following models:

• Seal 5 DM-i
• Sealion 6 DM-i
• eMax 7
• Shark 6 DMO

“The BYD Tech Tour provides an important touchpoint for customers to learn more about the advantages and benefits of electric mobility, and also experience the impressive line-up of BYD, the Global No.1 New Energy Vehicle brand,” BYD Philippines Country Head Adam Hu said.

“By continuously doing this, we are closer towards our goal in making the future of mobility more accessible to more Filipinos," he added.

The venue also paved the way for the regional debut of the Sealion 5 DM-i, which formally entered the Philippine market in June 2025.

Intended to meet the needs of young Filipinos, the new electrified subcompact crossover combines efficiency, power, smart features, and a commanding presence on the road sans the range anxiety.

Aside from the vehicle display, ACMobility also laid out its plan of widening its EV charging network. Currently, it has established nine charging locations in Mindanao with more to follow--including one in Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur.

As of last month, ACMobility has more than 100 active charging stations with over 230 charge points around the country and is keen on reaching the goal of putting up more than 700 charge points by yearend. Through its partnership with Evro, ACMobility offers EV users a convenient way to locate charging stations, monitor charging, and make cashless payments all in one app.
