Denza to preview B5, B8 at MIAS 2026

MANILA: Denza expressed its readiness in joining the upcoming Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) 2026, its first-ever automotive event in the Philippines, months after it officially entered the local market.

In a statement, the premium automotive marque’s distributor in the country said that its participation in the four-day event reflects the brand’s growing confidence and long-term commitment to delivering premium, future-ready mobility for Filipino drivers.

As mentioned in a Zigwheels Philippines article, Denza Philippines will preview the next set of models that it will offer to the market: the B5 and B8.

According to the Chinese automaker’s local arm, the two models feature advanced powertrains designed for performance and versatility.

Denza Philippines immediately shared that while the two models both take advantage of the Super DMO technology (first seen in the BYD Shark 6 DMO), the sport utility vehicles come with varying engines.

The Denza B5 is equipped with a 1.5-liter powertrain while the B8, a more robust 2.0-liter mill.

Additionally, the larger sport utility vehicle has an overall range of 1,040 kilometers (km) while the other can reach 975 km.

No other specifics were shared at the time of posting this article.

However, here are some facts about the two nameplates as seen abroad.

Denza B5

Overseas, the Denza B5’s 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine is mated to a pair of electric motors that can dish out the following numbers:

This plug-in hybrid electric vehicle carries a 31.8-kilowatt-hour BYD Blade Battery and an 83-liter fuel tank. Combined with the aforementioned powertrain, the Denza B5 can reportedly do up to 850 kilometers (based on Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Cycle standards).

The vehicle is also a true-blue off-roader as it also has front and rear mechanical (but electronically actuated) differential locks.

Denza B8

On the other hand, the Denza B8 is the larger version of the B5. This also comes in a four-wheel-drive set-up — with the PHEV powertrain able to deliver as much as:

Just like many PHEV models, the Denza B5 and B8 are expected to have vehicle-to-load and regenerative braking functionalities.

D9, Z9 GT displays

Aside from the two SUV models, customers will also see the Denza D9 and Z9 GT at the four-day event.
