G50 PHEV, MG5 Prestige spearheads MG PH’s showcase at 2026 AFSTDF

MANILA: Morris Garages (MG) Motor Philippines brings the MG G50 PHEV and MG5 Prestige to the 2026 Auto Focus Summer Test Drive Festival (AFSTDF). 

Fresh from their outing at last month’s Manila International Auto Show, the company’s hybrid multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) and hybrid city car will be available for test drives at the SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds, from May 7 to 10, 2026.

The two will be joined by the MG HS Hybrid+, MG ZS Hybrid+, and MG3 Hybrid+ — giving customers a firsthand experience of MG’s advanced hybrid technology and its balance of performance and fuel efficiency. 

“Events like the STV Auto Focus Summer Test Drive Festival provide the perfect platform for customers to fully experience MG’s latest innovations firsthand,” MG Motor Philippines President Wei Wei Zhang was quoted as saying. 

“With our latest models and electrified lineup available for test drive, we invite everyone to discover MG’s combination of innovation, performance, and everyday practicality,” he added. 

Here are a few notable features of the models headlining MG Philippines’ 2026 AFSTDF booth. 

MG G50 PHEV 

The MG G50 PHEV is the brand’s newest electrified MPV, which delivers a compelling combination of performance, efficiency, and practicality for modern families. 

Power comes from a 1.5-liter gasoline engine with an electric motor that generates 294 horsepower (hp) and 280 Newton-meters (Nm) of pulling power. 

Exterior features include LED lighting, a set of 17-inch alloy wheels, and a power tailgate. Interior amenities come in the form of its two 12.3-inch screens, leather seating, and wireless smartphone connectivity.

MG5 Prestige 

As for the MG5 Prestige, it is the company’s compact sedan, which offers a refined and feature-packed experience built for everyday driving. 

It is propelled by a 1.5-liter engine that churns 108 hp and 142 Nm. 

Outside is a power sunroof, LED illumination, and 16-inch two-tone alloy wheels. The cabin gets a 10.25-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, leather upholstery, and a manual air-conditioning system with rear vents.

Outside of the test drives, MG Philippines will treat visitors to a range of exciting activities, such as exclusive event-only offers, special promotions, and a variety of prizes and giveaways throughout the four-day event — making every visit both rewarding and memorable.
