Mazda recalls 2015 BT-50 pickup trucks in the Philippines

MANILA: Mazda has recalled all the BT-50 pickup trucks manufactured between March 2 and May 20, 2015, due to a problem with the door latch tab. This problem prevents the doors from closing properly and can result in an accidental opening while driving. According to the company, there are some problems with the pawl spring tab in the latch which prevents the door from closing properly. In extreme cases, a faulty latching mechanism could result in the passenger falling out of the vehicle. Besides preventing the door from closing properly, unlatching the door is also not possible.

Mazda is running a special service campaign regarding the issue. According to a report, Mazda will start the repair work as soon as the parts required for the replacement arrive. This will be done free of cost. It is estimated that nearly 53,320 units of BT-50 pickup are affected by the door latch tab problem. Mazda will contact all the owners suggesting them to bring their affected vehicles to the nearest dealer and get the problem fixed. The BT-50 is a heavy duty pickup truck built for performing pretty much any task. It is capable of carrying heavy loads very comfortably and provides with refined driving experience. The cabin of the vehicle is very spacious and looks trendy.
