Meet Engelberg Tourer, an all-electric SUV by Mitsubishi

MANILA: There is a town in the Swiss Alps named Engelberg, and an all-electric SUV heading towards Switzerland from Japan. All set to be previewed at the Geneva Motor Show later this year,

the Engelberg Tourer is an all-electric SUV concept from Mitsubishi. Featuring the Dynamic Shield design, the Engelberg houses blue LED strips, symbolising its all-electric nature.

The press release says that the SUV will “focus on next-generation technology and enhanced EV performance”. Similar to the newly launched Strada and the Xpander, the Engelberg carries a pair of slim headlights and chunky foglamps.

The SUV can also be seen equipped with roof-mounted lights which further enhance the rugged appearance of the vehicle along with providing the Engelberg Tourer with better off-road and night adventure capabilities.

Vehicles like the iMIEV hatchback and Outlander PHEV have been the testaments of Mitsubishi’s expertise in electric vehicles. The Japanese automaker has also said that the Engelberg Tourer will be featuring advanced tech along with a new look.

We hope that this concept SUV makes its way to the roads sooner than later. On the other hand, fading away like many other concepts would be a shame. Geneva Motor Show is not too far now as the event kicks off on 7 March 2019. We can certainly wait for a month and a few days, right?
