MG Motor PH to launch D90 early next year

MANILA: Morris Garages (MG) Motor Philippines is preparing to launch the upcoming D90 midsize sport utility vehicle (SUV) early next year. 

Such an update for the forthcoming model, which was previously showcased at the 2025 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS), was shared by MG Motor Philippines Vice President for Operations Karl Magsuci during the recent launch of the all-new MG ZS. 

“We are looking at sometime early next year. It’s all about timing, but right now, we are focused on the newly launched MG ZS, because again, this is our core model, so we want to give it the right focus,” Magsuci told Zigwheels Philippines in an interview. 

“So, most likely, for the big SUV, the D90, we are looking at early next year,” he added. 

For now, the MG Motor Philippines executive didn’t provide an exact date for its official introduction, but once it enters the market, the D90 is poised to compete against heavy-hitting three-row nameplates like the Toyota Fortuner, Mitsubishi Montero Sport, Nissan Terra, Isuzu mu-X, and Ford Everest. 

MG D90: specifications

While waiting for MG Motor Philippines to share more details about the upcoming D90, let’s check out the specifications of the one that was showcased at the 2025 MIAS. 

Propelling the midsize SUV is a 2.0-liter inline-4 turbodiesel engine capable of producing up to 214 horsepower and 500 Newton-meters of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic gearbox. 

Additional off-road capability for the MG D90 is provided by middle and rear locking differentials and a robust body-on-frame chassis. 

As mentioned above, the D90 offers a three-row seating arrangement with space for up to seven occupants. It also boasts the aforementioned amenities: 

• Eight-way power adjustable driver seat
• Power sunroof
• Dual 12.3-inch infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
• 360-degree view camera
• 64-color ambient lighting system

Additionally, the SUV model comes with a range of advanced driver-assist features, including adaptive cruise control, an overspeed alarm system, an advanced emergency braking system, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, and blind-spot monitoring, among others.
