Powered-up Bullitt Mustang strikes at the Dodge Hellcat

MANILA: Back in 1968, Steve McQueen shot for the action blockbuster “Bullit” with the amazing Ford Mustang Fastback. It went viral and became a show-stealer due to its iconic Highland Green paintwork. Coming back to the present day, the Ford Motor Company has once again revived the Ford Mustang with the launch of a special edition Mustang Bullitt at the North American International Auto Show(NAIAS).

But for the audience who is looking for a more powerful machine similar to the Dodge Hellcat, Chad McQueen has the solution. With support from Steeda, Galpin Auto Sports and MC Queen Racing have joined hands to deliver a powerful, faster and a better-handling Mustang. We present you the Steve McQueen Edition Bullitt Mustang.

Moving under the hood, there is a giant 5.0-litre V8 engine that produces 500PS, all thanks to the latest cold air intake and performance tuning. Those who are looking for more power can turn up the horsepower up to 775 with the optional Whipple supercharger upgrade. This power-lifts the special edition Mustang Bullitt to the category of the Hellcat. Some other performance upgrades of the beast include a four-point roll cage, a rear seat delete, a half shaft upgrade and a carbon fiber draft assembly.
Besides introducing more power to the Bullitt, the car also received a clutch spring assist upgrade, a 20-inch special edition Steve McQueen wheels packed in Nitto NT555 G2 tires and a McQueen Racing shifter knob. Apart from the performance upgrade, there were major upgrades in the design as well. The special edition Bullitt has better dampers, springs, struts, upgraded front and rear sway bars and camber plates.

Slight changes could be seen in the overall looks of the car to make it stand apart from the rivals. It comes with a new bigger spoiler, a newly designed aerodynamic front bumper, rear window louvers, a specially designed badge on the trunk, Steve McQueen Racing brake calipers in the charcoal black paint and McQueen accents painted in green.

Only 300 examples will be made each year and customers can have their standard Bullitt Mustangs receive the Steve McQueen Edition upgrade.
