Suzuki Australia for sure knows a thing or two about marketing

MANILA: Suzuki Jimny is a name that has been making rounds ever since its arrival in the global arena. The 4x4 crossover tasted massive success even without Suzuki promoting the car much.

However, Suzuki Australia is probably thinking otherwise. A commercial or two shouldn't harm at all, right? It will only boost the sales of the cute little box and promote the crossover on a larger scale.

In the quest of the same, Suzuki Australia has come up with something unique and attractive. It is a pair of roller skates that an Aussie is showing off while conquering the off-road trails. So, what's so special about these roller skates? Well, the skates are in the shape of Suzuki Jimny, which further show off the off-road capabilities of the 2019 Suzuki Jimny.

In the video commercial, we see a typical Aussie guy with long hair and shorts unearthing the dirt trails wearing these sleek Jimny roller skates. Something that's even more interesting is that the Jimny skates come equipped with off-road tyres and even features working foglamps and reverse lights. Yes, the reverse lights turn up only when the skates are rolling backwards, just in case you were wondering.

We're pretty certain that Suzuki Australia won't be releasing any publically available version of these roller skates, however, the marketing stunt is going to boost the sales for sure. Speaking of the Suzuki Jimny, the 4x4 crossover in Japan houses a 658 cc turbocharged, three-cylinder motor that makes 64 PS of maximum power and 96 Nm of peak torque.

The smaller engine in the Japan-spec Jimny is because the crossover falls in Japan's kei vehicle class. In the Philippine though, the much loved Jimny is powered by a much bigger 1.5-litre four-cylinder 16 valve gasoline mill that throws out a maximum power of 102 PS and a peak torque of 130 Nm. If Suzuki actually comes up such roller skates, would you like to have some fun wearing them? We certainly would.
