This is the 2017 Suzuki Swift and it’s attractive

MANILA: One of the most prominent cars from the house of Japanese automaker Suzuki has received the latest makeover. Yes, Suzuki has introduced the 2017 Swift in Japan and soon it will be launched in rest of the markets as well. The 2017 Suzuki Swift will go on sale in Japan on 4th January 2017 and will be showcased at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, which is scheduled in March.

The new Swift is designed on the Suzuki’s latest HEARTECT platform, which is light and rigid, as claimed by the Suzuki. For the Japanese market, the hatchback will be offered with two engine options which include a 1.2-litre Duraljet petrol engine and a 1.0-litre Boosterjet engine. The 2017 Swift will be also offered with SHVS variant for the Japanese market.

The new Swift has not only received cosmetic changes but has been undergone dimensional changes as well. The 2017 Swift is 10mm short in length than the existing model but, has a longer wheelbase, 20mm more. This has helped in improving the cabin space to a significant extent.

2017 Suzuki Swift Rear

Focusing on the styling of the Swift, it still boasts the rounded edge and the front bumper highlights the hexagonal grille in an effective manner. Even the headlights are rounded and now features DRLs. As seen in the camouflaged images of Swift, the production version has its rear door handle incorporated into the C-pillar panel, giving the new Swift a 3-door hatch like look. The standard version of the new Swift will be incorporated with 15-inch tyres while the RS variant might get the 16-inch tyres.

2017 Swift Cabin

The cabin continues to flaunt the black colored theme but, feature flat-bottom steering wheel with newly designed steering controls and new instrument panel which is inspired from the Baleno. It is also bestowed with paddle shifters which further improves the sportiness of the car. The center console has been redesigned too and it now features a touchscreen infotainment system and new air-con control knobs which look chunky.

There is no official word from the company about its launch in the Philippines. But, we expect that the 2017 Suzuki Swift might be launched in the Philippines by the mid-2017.
