Toyota Innova 2016 Inherits only 5% Old Car's Parts

MANILA: The Toyota Innova 2016 has recently made its grand launch in Indonesia by the name of Toyota Kijang Innova. This second generation car has undergone a massive improvement in terms of its features and looks where it shares very little from its predecessor. The Director of production engineering, Nandi Julianto at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia has shared in an interview that the new Innova shares, “only 5% of its components with the outgoing model, which is, few bolts and screws.”

Beyond that Innova almost shares nothing with the previous model. The Innova 2016 also rides on a revised ladder frame chassis which has been pulled to offer better strength and structural rigidity. The power supplies are great through two engine options, first is a 2.0-litre Dual l VVT-i 1TR-FE four-cylinder petrol providing 139 PS at 5,600 rpm and 183 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. Second is a new 2GD-FTV 2.4-litre turbo diesel mill from the Hilux offering 149 PS at 3,400 rpm and 359 Nm of torque from 1,200 to 2,600 rpm.

Although, the latest of the features are reserved for the top spec diesel Q Type only which include Smart Close Back Door, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, LED projector headlights, 17-inch wheels, and safety feature such as seven airbags and vehicle stability control, but, even the lower variants are well equipped to overture an easy comfortable and luxurious feel of the ride.

Now, with all these great offerings, we really hope that the Toyota Innova 2016 comes soon to the Philippines with all these features so that Filipinos here can really appreciate and enjoy Toyota's offering. Moreover, without these attractive features, there would be nothing much luring in the car.
