Toyota Motor PH to display ‘updated’ GR Yaris at 2025 AFSTDF

MANILA: Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) will showcase the latest iteration of the GR Yaris at the 2025 Auto Focus Multi-brand Summer Test Drive Festival (AFSTDF).

Based on its announcement, the hatchback offering can be seen up close at the four-day event that will be held starting today.

“Heads up, car enthusiasts! The New Toyota GR Yaris is on display at the AutoFocus Test Drive Festival 2025. Come see it up close on May 8–11 at SM MOA Concert Grounds — free admission!” the country’s leading mobility company stated on its post on Facebook.

Here are the vehicle’s specifications.

Exterior

Being a spruced-up version, the 2025 Toyota GR Yaris kept the measurements of its predecessor as seen in the table below:

The main difference between the previous iteration is that the new one features a more aerodynamic exterior design that highlights its rally-bred heritage.

It comes with LED illumination (three-tiered manual leveling headlights, daytime running lamps, and rear combination lamps), and 18-inch aluminum-forged wheels wrapped in 225/40 tires, and a rear spoiler.

The car can be had in these body colors:

• Super White
• Emotional Red
• Precious Black
• Precious Metal

Interior

Inside, the new Toyota GR Yaris is outfitted with improved amenities such as:

• 12.3-inch thin film transistor cluster gauge with tire pressure monitor
• Seven-inch display audio with wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto connectivity
• Synthetic Leather/Suede seats

Powertrain

Under its hood is a three-cylinder, in-line, double overhead cam, four valve Roller-Rocker 1.6-liter engine (G16E-GTS) engine that has the capability to provide a peak churn of:

The aforementioned mill — which is mated to either a six-speed manual or an eight-speed direct shift automatic transmission with paddle shifters — has an upgraded drive mode select, a new sub radiator and intercooler spray to increase the car’s overall performance.

Technologies

Technological amenities are a-plenty in the 2025 Toyota GR Yaris as it is fitted with:

• Back monitor
• Intelligent clearance sonar
• Improved Toyota Safety Sense package with blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert

Further, the car’s AT variant has a Dynamic Radar Cruise Control while the MT trim has adaptive cruise control.

Relatedly, TMP is also giving an event-exclusive P200,000-discount to those who will reserve a unit of the Toyota GR Yaris M/T trim’s previous iteration.

Tamaraw display, test drives

Aside from that new GR Yaris, TMP is also displaying and making available the Tamaraw at the event.

The said model comes in five body options namely:

• Dropside
• GL Dropside
• Utility van long wheelbase
• Utility cargo van
• Utility van short wheelbase

It also comes in gasoline and diesel mill variations that are mated to either a manual or automatic gearbox.
